Interesting tidbits in there.

A CJ Anderson trade was never going to happen with the bad blood between Elway and Gase
The 3rd starting LB will come from the draft or a trade.
The Fins want to add one more DT, but aren't convinced he needs to be a starter...a rotational tackle would do (might rule out Vea?)

I've come to the belief that we're taking a linebacker with the first pick because after the top two or three guys there's a huge drop off and in the second we can take a safety because there are some good players that are FS types that will be available.

Unless a Tunsil happens and a top QB, Nelson or Barkley falls

Maybe trade back into the late 1st and nab Reid at FS...or...trade back, get some ammo to trade up with and draft Vander Esch, and Reid.

Would be a solid first two picks. Probably a pipe dream though.

I've heard good things about Reid and that kid from Northwestern, both may be available in the second but after Edmunds Smith and Esch there's not a lot I can like in the LB department.

I'd hope they don't draft a darn DT at 11.....Suh is better than any DT you'd get at 11 and our defense never got better with him. We need a LB and a FS way more than we do a DT

If their goal is, like Ross says multiple times in that..

to put a 'competitive product' out there,

the goal should always be to win a Championship.

Putting a 'competitive product' out there means that the GM is just trying to keep his job for as long as he can.

To me Darnold and Luke Falk are basically the same guy. I don’t believe he is one of the top four quarterbacks and the hype is pure bull. Cleveland takes Barkley and ends up with Allen or Rosen too. I would love him to fall to 11 and have a trade for someone who can’t believe he slipped out of the top ten. This draft is loaded from the middle of round one through three and four. Would love more picks.

I feel the DT is now the same with the Kiko Alonso situation. What I see and what this front office sees are apparently too completely different situations. I really can't believe we might go into this year relying on Godchaux to play over 500 snaps again.

Imlact player at 11 would be Edmunds or James on defense.

IMO there are only three guys that might be at 11 who can transform our defense;

Minkah Fitzpatrick-FS
A dream and probably won’t be there but I have read some mocks have him slipping out of the top 10. A much better fit for us than James as I see it.

Terrel Edmunds-LB
Size, speed, tackling machine. Everything we don’t have at LB. Smith is fine and will probably have a nice career but I don’t see him being transformative.

Vita Vea-DT
An absolute immovable object who would shut down any hope of an inside run game. Pairing this athletic freak with Phillips abilities (if he can be consistent) would be devastating. Vea also helps our LB’s out by keeping them clean.

If not one of those three and assuming no QB or Top 5 player slips I would rather trade out.

Agree to disagree

Phillips flashed incredible ability but Suh and Phillips didnt compliment each other, certainly not like Vea and Phillips would.

James from what I see is a LB in the Thomas Davis mold and nothing close to a Free Safety.

If we agree that Minkah won’t be there then, again in my opinion, the only two players at 11 that change our defense is Edmunds and Vea.
