This is a couple days old, but I thought it was news worthy. It surprised me a bit, and it's sad because he could've been one hell of a football player, but as we've seen all too often, injuries own football careers.

"I have to decide if playing football is in my head or in my heart," Arrington said. "If it's in my heart, I'll come back for an attractive situation. If it's in my head, I'm done. I have a few other options for my life outside football. I'm not going to say I'm Tiki Barber, but I'm not chopped meat...If this is the end, I'm glad the Giants gave me a chance to prove myself. I'm just disappointed things didn't work out for all of us."

Edit: Bah, that link is actually from Feburary, but I made this in response to a Washington Times article on the 18th (which I can't find now) which gave an updated report that made it seem that he has now hung it up.

Arrington had some injuries and then last season he tore his Achilles tendon, which is pretty well a career ender for top notch LBs. For every one who can come back to close to what he was, there are probably 2 or 3 that never get near their former level. The jury is out on Takeo Spikes who tore his in 2005.
