What a shame. That dude was a monster in College - 29 is awful early to retire from anything.

June 18, 2007 -- Former Giants linebacker LaVar Arrington was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Monday near Washington's Capital Beltway, according to media outlets in Washington.

Fire officials told the WTOP Radio that Arrington was listed in serious condition. According to WUSA-TV, he was driving his motorcycle on the Rt. 50 off-ramp to the Beltway when the crash occurred. The location of the crash is less than two miles from FedEx Field near Landover, Md., where Arrington played for the Washington Redskins for the first six years of his career.

WUSA also reported that Arrington's injuries are not life-threatening, and that his wife and other relatives had joined him at Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, Md.

i know that is not good i just cringe when i think about big ben's wreck last year.
motorcycles are dangerous especialy when the other nuts out there are being idiots.

They just said on the radio broken arm, and 3 broken bones in his leg. But nothing life threatening

Safe to say he won't be playing in 2007. Depending on the severity of the leg fracture, this may be it for him.

Michael Smith, of <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/9">ESPN.com, reports unrestricted free-agent LB LaVar Arrington (arm, leg) broke bones in his arm and leg after being involved in a serious motorcycle accident Monday, June 18, according to Arrington's agent, Carl Poston. The injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. Poston said Arrington broke a bone in one of his arms and three bones in one of his legs.

That will probably be it for his career. Too bad, he showed signs of greatness a few years ago before the injury bug really kicked in. At least he made a bunch of money while in the league. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

Unless something changed he already retired a bit ago.

No he didn't. He only considered it. The link is in the first post of this thread.

Arrington, who bought his way out of his contract with the Redskins, ruptured his Achilles early last season with the NY Giants and has been recovering since. Numerous NFL players believe Arrington had been seriously considering retirement and his agent had said that Arrington would not have be ready to pass an NFL physical until August or so.

He was drafted and expected to become the next LT, I thought he was a really good LB but not great (except on Madden). Awesome in college though, I remember him jumping straight over the line to block kicks and get sacks. I wonder how things would have turned out if Cleveland hadn't passed on him.
