LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Former NFL and Nebraska running back Lawrence Phillips was convicted Tuesday of seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon for driving a car at a group of young men, injuring three.
The 31-year-old Phillips drove onto a field near Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum after losing a pickup football game on Aug. 21, 2005. He struck two boys, ages 14 and 15, and a 19-year-old man, and narrowly missed four others between 15 and 24 years old, according to the prosecutor.

Still a loser thug after all these years.

Now he can't even carry a team in pickup football games? :lol:
 
What a waste of physical talent he turned out to be.

Cecil the Diesel was too, but at least he never seemed prone to violent behavior like Phillips. Poor ol' Cecil was just a perv. :(
 
I am still mad at Lawrence Phillips. He had so much talent, and flushed it down the toilet. Imagine how good the Dolphins would have been had he played as well as he did at Nebraska when they were racking teams up left and right.
 
lawrence had the talent to be something and he pissed it all away to be a no good thug

I think we all lay awake at night wondering how good Phillips could have been!
 
That is crazy that someone would do that after a pickup game.
 
if there is anyone to be a warning to kids to stay out of trouble and keep working at your goals, it's Lawrence Phillips...and Maurice Clarett.
 
I will never forget that look when Lawrence Phillips left the police station after he was arrested at Nebraska. I told everyone this was the look of evil.
I was hoping against hope though that he would work out when Jimmy Johnson picked him up in 1998. And for a whole offseason he was squeaky clean and then 1 month before training camp started he got into a fight at a nightclub. I think even Jimmy Johnson realized there was no saving that guy.
I'm not surprised by any of this. I'm also predicting the same fate for Chris Henry and Pacman Jones.

Some day, LP will probably realize what he had, and threw it all away....again and again and again.
What a beast he was, while he played here at Nebraska. Problem was he was a beast off the field as well. Those were the days for Nebraska. LP as the starting RB and Ahman Green as the backup.
What a waste of God given ability.

i mean you know how many people would love to play professional football for a living?

lawerence phillips took playing pro football for a living as a right and not a privellage

and whose this phillips guy? sounds familiar
