Dude has made SIGNIFICANT Strides in 2008. He's going to flirt with 800 yards this season. That's nearly double from his rookie year. He doesn't score a lot but the touchdowns he has scored were brilliant plays. I have no problem with him preserving his career. He can probably man up a little more but why such unrealistic standards for a 2nd year receiver.

We all know Penny's problem throwing the deep ball, this hurts Teddy a bit as well... From my vantage point, I see a guy who's progressed a lot in 2008 and has made big plays for us this year. He was the MAN v. Buffalo in Miami, made a huge 4th down catch against the Raiders to go with his beautiful TD run and made a dazzling td grab against Seattle.

I'm happy with Teddy this year and see next year (his third) to be his breakout year ala Roddy White.

So far I'm dead on with my projections of Teddy. I said he'd have 769 yards with 3 tds this season. He will probably do very similar numbers to those...

I for one am happy with Ted.

GO PHINS GO!

I agree,

Teddy has gone through a lot as a Fin

I mean come on guys. He woke up on draft day and was thinking this is the day I have been waiting for all my life. Then he gets picked by us and there is a revolt (I'll admit I was one of them)

But come on, this guy came into the league as an unpolished receiver and is making tremendous progress. He is no Calvin Johnson, but face it this guy can and does make plays for us.

Running out of bounds does not bother me all the time. Teddy just needs to be aware of the situation and realize some times it is worth fighting for the extra yard, or sometimes you need to keep the clock running.

BUT ANYONE WHO THINKS HE SHOULD STAY IN BOUNDS AND TAKE UNNECESSARY HITS FOR ONE MORE YARD JUST TO PROVE HE ISNT SOFT IS CRAZY.

THAT IS NOT THE TYPE OF RECEIVER HE IS.

TEDDY gonna break one of those kickoffs real soon, hopefully against the 9ers this Sunday

Teddy.. plays a sport supported by the public. He is open to any criticism people may have.

Sure he's made strided.. but right not I'd take Bess over Ginn anyday.. Little Bess knows how to fight for precious yards..

Bess over Ginn, come on. They play 2 different roles on this team. U don't know the coverages being thrown towards Ginn's side. Bess doesn't have the #1 pressure of Ginn. I like Bess, a straight STEAL . . . but he is not a #1 WR . . . Ginn isn't either, but u see the potential. It's like Welker and Ginn . . . sure Wes is great, but he is not a #1 . . . u find these type of WR's who fit that slot role and can produce out of them, especially in this offense. Cam did it, now Bess . . . the attention Ginn gets only aids in their production.

And with Chad P, I think Ginn has become a better WR . . . sure u miss that deep threat on a regular basis, but with Chad, Ginn has improved his route running and makes catches in traffic. I can only imagine when we do get a QB with the rocket arm how great Ginn is going to be.

Seriously, if Wilford would be the guy we thought he was when we signed him . . . we would have been actually pretty decent at WR. Do we really need to draft one? Ginn, Bess, Cam and London are all super young . . . no need to get youth there . . . we need a SOLID veteran . . . maybe Wilford will get better and become that . . . but its not likely.

This is a dumb thread. Firstoff I havnt seen anyone bash Ginn. I have read critisizm about his lack of aggressivness to fight for extra yards. News Flash. Thats a fair knock on him. He dosnt fight and he has made some bad decisions on critical conversion plays. I think everyone akcnowledges that he has improved and continues to do so.

For the OP to imply that our team MVP, Chad Pennington, is to blame for Ginn not having better numbers is laughable. I would like to know what kind of numbers he thinks Ginn would have with Henne, McCown, or Beck under center?

Title is misleading. I thought you were asking for Ted to get laid off. I was about to agree with ya.

Don't try and imply Ted will be better with a stronger armed QB. Penny threw it 55 yards in the air on that flea flicker so if that isn't strong enough then and extra 4-5 yards isn't going to matter.

Yes, he threw it 55 yards in the air . . . what? maybe three times this year? in what? 13 games? Chad P is not going to throw the rock deep on a regular basis, which is what I said. Ginn needs that IMO, he needs to use that speed to blow by defenders more than once every 4 games. However, Chad NOT throwing the rock deep on a regular basis has helped Ginn's route running and breaks and everything immensly this season . . . u have seen the strides, and its only going to get better.

Arm strength doesn't even have to do with yardage in the air . . . that is a misconception . . . what about zip on passes? Ginn was raw comming out, we knew it would take a few years to get him where he needs to be as a WR and it doesn't help when your QB doesn't have the cannon to rifle passes which helps with routes that aren't run precisly or to help WR's who maybe don't come out the breaks better. However with Chad, I think Ginn has had to refine his game more to get to where he needs to be with Chad, and he has become a better WR because of it.

Chad is not holding Ginn back at all, that was a dumb statement by the OP, Chad has helped Ginn become a better WR . . . and "I can only imagine when we DO get a QB that can throw the deep ball 2 or 3 times a game" how effective Ginn will be.

This is not me saying lets get rid of Chad . . . a WR doesn't dictate our QB situation. I hope Chad can play 5 more years . . . he is a franchise QB.

One of the issues with that 55 yarder was it brought Ginn back to the ball cause it was a flea flicker. I want Pennington to hit him in stride so Ginn can make sure his guy is beat.

We have no clue what the coaches are asking Ginn to do, so people really need to relax on the situation. Next time he has a 100 yard game, most of the people criticizing will be huge fans again. Ironic.
