Some of the Dolphins' best players are injured going into the next season and this years' playoffs including Connor Williams, Jaelen Phillips, Jerome Baker, Bradley Chubb, Xavien Howard, Jaylan Waddle, etc. Today's loss was a fork in this season based on the injuries to Chubb and Howard. This defense does not work without two shutdown corners.

Williams is a free agent, won't be getting the big contract now (or as big), maybe that could mean he stays at a more reasonable salary. One potential silver lining.

Chubb and Phillips injuries are devastating for next year...

Howard and Baker are likely gone next year anyway. Phillips and Chubb prob don’t participate in any offseason **** (ready by TC?). Waddle will be back in the playoffs apparently. Will Williams be re-signed? No idea.

Chubb won't play until week 4 or so next year, at best.

Full year + on a full Achilles tear...

Phillips by week 10?

Massive money allocated for those two collectively. Absolutely devastating for our roster building this offseason needing two starting edge defenders / pass rushers.

AVG likely gone as well, won't be able to afford him...

I don’t want to see AVG go. **** happens though. **** it.

Feels as if they almost have to find a way to keep him now given the uncertainty at the position between Chubb and Phillips. Between ever shifting injury return timelines on those type of injuries and the possibility that even after returning it takes time to return to their prior form, having a guy like AVG who knows the system seems like it may have added importance. Of course, none of that matters if they simply can’t make a deal that works.

And now we're gonna have to pay Tua (i dont like this)
Tua don't deserve a top 5 contract. He can get a 8 to 10 contract. It seems as if he doesn't keep that chip on his shoulder and he doesn't do well with any kind of change to a lineup during a game in real time. Do I think he is a top 5 QB? Yes, I think he is top 3. HOWEVER, I am only paying him top 8 to 10 money.

Priorities for next year: Connor Williams, Robert Hunt. Let Tua play on 5th year option unless he accepts team-friendly contract with an out after two seasons. Tua is fragile physically and mentally. He needs McDaniel as a cheerleader. Let Wilkins test market if he wants $24M per year. A huge problem is we do not have enough draft picks to replace expiring contracts. We will have to restructure Armstead and Tyreek to create space. Without draft picks, we will overpay for vets other teams allow to walk.

Well, with the injuries to both starting edge players and losing AVG possibly this team will probably draft at least 1 edge and I expect value shopping in FA for another.

Sucks back to back years injuries will derail a season with some potential to make the AFCC game.

It's not really the corners, the defence doesn't work if you can't get pressure with just the front 4. Fangio is only blitzing 29% of the time, the other 71% you are relying on the front 4 to get pressure before someone gets open.

The Dolphins are now without their 2 best pass rushers for the playoffs. Fangio either needs to adjust or Miami is going to get embarrassed yet again in their next 2 games.
