I was listening to 790 AM (radio station tha covers phin football for those not from Miami area) and I was suprised to hear LeBetard saying Brown did not show anything.

Well first let me start by saying that Brown did look a tad slow, because until yesterdays game he had only 20 carries in preseason work. We all know that the preseason and regular season game speed are night and day. Furthermore, the Broncos came in with one game plan, and it has been the same game plan for the last 2 years: stop the run. The first play of the game was a hand-off to Ronnie and the Broncos totally jumped the gaps. Many teams this year will put 9 men in the box and see if we can pass on them, because we have been so terrible at it for 4 years. Even Ferotte stated (post game conf.) that you can not run successfully when you have that many guys in the box.

Furthermore, let's all be honest here, regarldess of our coaching the offensive lineman that we currently have will not be hear over the next 2-3 years. Saban has yet to get his players on the O-line. I do not think that it is fair to compare the Miami O-line with Tampa's O-line. In addition, it was this O-line that had a ton of false-starts and holding calls. A running back is as good as his Oline, and I am not sure that Ricky would have been successful yesterday. How many games did we see Ricky get blasted in the backfield.

Now, it is true Ronnie did too much dancing and spinning in the back field. All of which will be addressed by the Coaching staff, and most importantly Ronnie himself. What I like about Ronnie, is that he is a student of the game, as I right this I am confident he is studying film.

He will improve, as a player and as our o-line gets better players and plays better, things will get better.

ronnie did alot of litle things very well in this game, i thought he showed some patience running the ball in the second half, i also thought he hit the holes hard when given the opportunity to do so. he made that great one handed thrid down catch, and had the prescence to roll for the first down, and he can be counted on to pickup blitzers...cut the kid some slack, denvers D has some of the fastest linebackers in the league, along with lynch to help support the run game. this kid is going to be special

i for one thought he played ok, nothing horrible. What i liked was his soft hands on his only catch and the blitz pickups he had. You never heard the annoucer say "oh he is a rookie and will learn to block that guy". He protected the qb well. As for his main job running the ball, he actually and -10 yards or so on 2 plays that were very odd calls that he was given no chance on the plays. take that away and he is near 75 yards. hmm sounds ok to me for a guy who the d was trying to stop!

Ronnie was far from spectacular. I am kind of with Le******* here, I cant believe I just said that.

i was @ the game and trust me the broncos had a TOUGH time takin brown down.. he remiinds me alot of what jamal lewis rins like he uses his size to spin off tacklers

LeBatard is in love with Ricky Williams. He wants Ronnie to burn so his lover can get some playing time.

......I can't believe I'm agreeing with a frickin' Longhorn....:D

Give him some time. He is very strong, and got 2-3 yards with just that... The coaches will get him together... And we get Ricky back in a few more games, this will only make Ronnie better.

 It's Dolphins related, you damn Aggie.

I'am laughing at you two. I live in Colorado and sometimes I'll wear my Nebraska T-shirt WITH my Colorado hat. It's really funny to see peoples faces.

he played fine. the broncos were determined to stop the run

he made an awesome, drive sustaining catch. he bulldozed a couple guys and crumpled champ bailey (not that i liked the injury)

I think the weeks that Ronnie has before Ricky comes back is a fair enough time to make a good assessment on his ability as a running back... You can usually tell quickly if a RB is going to hit it big, and so far, I saw great positives in Ronnie's secondary responsibilities (such as blocking and pass catching), while a fair performance at running the ball. Some1 mentioned the -10 yards thing which is true, and that Denver stacked the line. These "reasons" are only "reasons" for a little while. If we continue to use them through week 6 and beyond, this is a very bad sign. Then the "reasons" become more like excuses. When Ricky comes back, what if he lights it up, and that reduces ronnie's carries (because we have already seen Saban will do the thing vital to winning, not the popular move)? How will this affect Ronnie? That is why it is important for him to continue improving, although the Jets, Panthers, and Bills have some pretty formidable LB corps... To be the best, you must overcome the best of competition. RONNIE, JUST BRING IT
