Now that good pal Dwyane Wade has won an NBA title, LeBron James is even more driven to get his first.

"It just makes me hungrier," James said Wednesday at the groundbreaking for a $4.7 million housing project on the city's east side that he and his business team are partially funding. "The best team won it this year, D-Wade and the Miami Heat. But the NBA doesn't stop in one year.

"I've got a long time to get mine."

And, it's clearer than ever that James wants to win his first championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

On July 1, the club will offer him a five-year, $75 million maximum contract extension. That date has been circled on the Cavs' calendar since they drafted the 21-year-old first overall in 2003.

James is convinced he'll be in Cleveland for a long time.

Lebron is going to re-up. The Cavs will offer him the max. The owner not going to be the one who was known as the one who let lebron go. The only way lebron leaves is because of endorsment deal where he make up the difference and make more money (ie. Lakers, Bulls). But I dont even think thats enough because the Cavs have alot of young good players.

David Stern will try to get LeBron out of Cleveland and to a big city team like the NY Knicks, Chicago, or LA.

I'd like to extend an open invitation to Lebron to come and play with Dwyane and Shaq in Miami :D

cap wont allow that to happen especially with wades contract ended in a year or so and him needed a new deal as well

I am waiting for the "Wade confident of deal with Heat"...

I know I have no reason to be nervous about him leaving... b/c he prob wont... but I dont think I will be comfortable until his contract is extended...

It was meant in jest...

There's no way he leaves Cleveland.

LeBron would be dumb for taking that deal, staying with the Cavs. Play out the season and enjoy free agency the next year, young fella! I'd love to see LeBron elsewhere. I don't think Cleveland is the right building block for him. The league will do anything possible to get him to sign elsewhere as well. Watch out for Chicago in the summer of '07 if they don't spend the cash on Ben Wallace this summer. But then again, LeBron ain't giving up his #23 to play with the Bulls.

LeBron isn't staying in Cleveland... H'll go to a big Market with a solid franchise. LA Lakers is my bet.

They'd never have the cap space for LeBron. I doubt LeBron would play "number two" to Kobe Bryant anyways. Chicago is the only big market franchise that is really loaded right now. Maybe even the Clippers if they unload Maggette for expiring contract(s) this summer.

IMO he'll be stupid to do that. He be leaving 30+mil on the table. But he sure welcome to come to los angeles. In 2008 the lakers will be able to afford him because of expiring contracts. Especially if they trade lamar odom with will probably happen this offseason.

They dont need cap space if they have a player on the roster. The cavs will just have to pay a luxury tax about 50%then the amount they are over the cap. The salary cap prevent new free agents players to come if there is no room.

All I got to say is Orlando. They will have the money. They are a young and upcoming team... and he will be playing with the next DOMINANT bigman in the league...
