EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- While his free agency is still two years away, LeBron James won't hestiate to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers if another franchise offers the superstar a better chance to win multiple NBA titles.

"I think you do what is best for you and you do what is best for your career," James said Tuesday night when asked about his sense of loyalty to the Cavaliers before they played the Nets in New Jersey.

"...I go out and I play hard and that's loyalty," James added. "It's hard because it's a business. (The) franchise is going to do what is best for the player, it always comes back on us. I am going to look bad. If a franchise decides to give up on a player, it's OK. So we have to do what is best for us."

The only way I could see him leaving is if someone had a situation like the one Shaq walked into in LA and Miami....a young superstar waiting to team up with him and build a dynasty.

Send him to Philly :d-day:

No just kidding, we have our own Lebron James, his name is Thaddeous Young. :hi5:

I don't think LeBron's going to go to any city if he does leave. He can say it's about championships but it's about $. It's either Knicks or bust. Maybe i'm looking at this from a different point of view but he does seem to spit in the face of Cleveland fans alot.

On a different note what's he supposed to say? I think Wilbon stated today that if he stated he's staying in Cleveland we'd all of called him a liar. If he leaves it's gotta be for NY, Miami, Chicago, or LA. I think LA and Miami each have a guy they believe is their franchise player.

Why can't he win in Cleveland is something i'm wondering. His team gave the Celtics their biggest challenge last year in the postseason. The year before they went to the finals.

If its all about the $ hes staying in Cleveland. Don't believe this nonsense about hidden escalator clauses in his endorsement deals that pay him some huge sum if he goes to a major market. He will always stand to gain the most financially if he stays put and takes the max thats offered to him.

He has shown that hes good enough to take a mediocre team on his back and will them to the finals. But why would he have any confidence in the management's ability to build a solid team around him after watching their actions during his tenure as a Cav? The only good move Ferry has made has been convincing big Z and Lebron to sign extensions.

They got Mo Williams too..he seems to be working out well for them.

They won't win anything because Lebron is their only serious scoring threat. Until they bring in other dangerous scorers to compliment him like the Lakers did with Gausol to help Kobe, and the Celtics, bringing in KG, Allen, and Posey to compliment Pierce, they won't win anything anything. My Sixers made it to the finals not to long ago as well (2001), but with AI as their only serious scoring threat, they couldn't pull it off against the Lakers.

lebron and wade will leave in 2yrs. That why they signed that short contract unlike carmello.

They signed short contracts to take advantage of a new collective bargaining agreement, with the concept being that the new max contract percentage would be higher this go around. 'Melo signed a longer deal because he was smart enough to realize he wasn't in the same class as Bosh, Wade, and Lebron.
