any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I have personally seen Matt Ryan play on multiple occasions and this kid is the REAL DEAL. Matt Ryan is a mythical quarterback who was conceived when chuck norris impregnated tom brady

So you're saying Matt Ryan came from Tom Brady's butt.

My Comments...Hmmm...The only reason why Parcells would select Ryan is the same reason he would take McFadden...to trade him. Otah will not last till the 32nd pick...more than likely he will be selected in the 12-20 range. Porter will more than likely go in the 2nd round...although he could go as high as 30.

maybe, but only in a good way!!!

really though I could not be more impressed with this young man. steve young always talks about the quarterback having "it". ryan has "it". i would put my life savings on this man's success in the nfl :)

Also, i guess we'll be the first 3-4 to not have inside linebackers... no way we draft DT in round 3 when ILB is a dire need.

Steve Young is actually very high on Beck.

As for your draft, I think the chances of Ryan being the pick are very low. I would bet that more than half of the analysts and teams don't see Ryan as much better than the other QBs in this draft.

I don't think Otah will last anywhere near that long, although I do think that is the position we'll target there.

And while I wouldn't mind a CB with the other 2nd rounder, BP hasn't shown much of an inclination to draft CB in the first three rounds my guess is that TE or maybe a dropping QB or WR will be the selection there.

thanks for the comments!!!

I watched around 25% of John's games at BYU and he was definitely a dominant college football player, even though he played in the MWC. The thing about him is his ability to translate that productivity on the NFL level which is in question. The fact that he is the oldest NFL sophomore in league (i think?) also raises great doubt. Personally it is my philosophy that if you have a chance to get an outstanding player at the most important position in professional sports, you do it. You may very well be right about Otah but seeing as how he is more of a project with outstanding raw tools, I believe there is a good chance he will be available. Regardless, there is no way the fins come out of this draft without a beefy o-lineman

Jake long
brandon flowers/kenny phillups
erin henderson
phillup wheeler/chilo rachal

that is better than the better one
i odnt feel comfortable wasting the first overal on a olb
go francise t, solid starting cb, mlb, and wither olb in the third or rachal to start at gaurd
then you can go depth the rest, mabey booty if u wanna go qb like 5ht

Not even counting the Fins' picks, this mock looks way off base imo.

While the age thing affects longevity, its not predictive of NFL success. Even then I believe that individual habits (like work ethic and off season conditioning) and luck play a larger role in longevity.

And while I would agree that you get the outstanding QB when you can I don't agree that Ryan is outstanding. His accuracy is sporadic. His arm strength is adequate at best. He showed good pocket awareness and good pre-snap reads. But had a tendency to force passes under pressure. His stats are nothing spectacular. His play against good teams was nothing spectacular. Basically, he's not outstanding. He is a mid first to early second round talent. It would be foolish to spend the #1 overall on Ryan.
