Leonard Henry might play this weekend

The team will most likely sign Leonard Henry from the practice squad to fill the void.

I hope he gets a chance to play a little. I think he has talent to at least be a 3rd down back. At the same time, if he plays and shines, that wouldnt be good if we have to waive him again when Minor comes back.
I'd rather have Henry than Minor anyway. AT least Henry has some upside you know?

I said that a while ago and got totally blasted for even thinking that.

I still agree. Think Minor is average at best and reached his peak in terms of talent.

I agree but what hurts him is that he cannot stay on the field (Injury prone) and he does not play on STs.

Yep..I did too. I think the starting postition should be open between Gordon and Henry, with Minor as the 3rd down back. I think Henry is probaby the best of the bunch. Oh...But I'm forgetting Morris.

I am not sold on Henry being better than Gordon, but I like him. If he can stay healthy, he provides a solid option.

I'm hoping Gordon gets all the carries and shows his stuff, I'm gonna take a gamble and start him this week in my fantasy league.

I wonder who is going to get cut if they bring him up I don't believe they'll cut minor as much as people don't like him based on four preseason games he was averaging 5 yrds a carry versus the Titans. I really hope that don't cut him. I am very glad that they were able to keep Henry.

I found this disturbing:

To complicate the backfield situation, Rob Konrad will miss his second game. Last week, the fullback had surgery to remove an infection from his thigh. He hasn't yet practiced.

Last week Konrad spent five days in the hospital and he hasn't practiced yet this week. By no means am I knocking his toughness here, but how long will it be before he can really return as a contributing member of the team? Think about what a five day stay in a hospital bed could do to an athlete's finely tuned body. Hopefully he hasn't practiced yet this week because they're allowing him to regain his strength. Wasn't it last year that numerous members of the team came down with staph infections from some funk at the training facility? Hopefully this isn't related to that, but if it is they should release Hurrican Chlorox on the entire compound. Konrad's eventual return will only serve to further the unfamiliararity in Miami's backfield when Lamar Gordon will be following a lead blocker he hasn't, up to this point, even been on the practice field with. With all the new parts in this offense the first month of the season is going to be like training camp all over. However, if Miami can make it through with say a 2-2 record and Feeley plays somewhere between adequate and well, this team just might be able to make some noise down the road.

The best fullback we have now that Konrads out is Jamaar Martin. They guy can block for Gordon and pickup the pass rush but since he hasnt been with the team that much i dont know if Wannstedt would play him more than Easlick.

I think most of us would like to see him play to be able to gauge his skills and potential. It is interesting that this statement appeared in a Naples paper and not in any of the Miami papers. I suspect it is pure writer speculation and not based on any inside information. The problem is that if Henry is elevated to the 53 man squad, someone has to be released, and the Dolphins risk losing him as they did Jenkins. Tough call.
