first let me say that i love finheaven...but it never fails...i cannot tolerate the idiots who post on this board once the season starts...

yes, we are 0-3 but some of the posts ive read, like henne is a bust after 19 passes in the nfl, is a joke...

i dont want to sugar coat this season at all because its been a failure...while we look strong running the ball, our qb is out for the year, our secondary is giving up big plays and not making tackles...further, we just arent winning, winnable games...

but lets remember that in bill parcells first year in dallas he went 10-6....he second year, amid qb controversy, he went 6-10...the step back helped the team reload on defense with ware, spears, canty...

last year was a good sign of what this team can do, but to move forward guys like henne need to have a look, with a offense built around their skill set...that means, more plays for ginn downfield, no more dunks for henne, and allowing ronnie to get over 20 carries a game, and to give our rookie corners more time on the field...

to get to that point, we may have to sacrifice this season...but by no means does that give merit to 90% of the posts on this board...

ill see you guys in march, when the draft talk begins because i cant handle the negativity all the time...

I couldn't have said it better myself... MIRACLES were expected this year ... and if i'm not mistaking, there were similiar drop offs in NE and NY in year 2 ... so with that in mind, let the trend take it's course and let the consistant winning begin in year 3-4 ... by that time many of these young players should be hitting their strides and helping the team consistantly win ... guys like Langford, Thomas and Long are already making their marks in year 2 ... there have been some bumps, but overall the foundation is beginning to take shape...

I am praying for him but Henne just looks scared back there. We did have a nice 76 yard drive not sure how many yards were in the air though. Lets hope Henne just stays poised in the pocket with no INTs and no sacks.

I've posted this many times already in support of what your saying, almost all teams that have a major turnaround season like we did have a coming back down to earth season the very next year. It's the 3rd year that will be telling on how the re-building process has gone.

This is a good year to be bad as well, the draft looks strong and we could certainly use a top player this year.

Agree 100% ... this year the top end of the draft is loaded at DT,WR and QB ... i'm going to say Miami will pick in the top 5-8 picks ... giving them a REAL shot at some very quality DT's and Wr's ... guys like Spikes, Hughes and or Selvie could be available at the top of round 2 ...

If Henne can make us all believers we`ll be in great shape next year after filling a couple holes.

I think the negativity stems around several things. You see teams like Baltimore, Atlanta and the NY Jets drafting good young QB's like Flacco, Ryan and Sanchez, and then you see what Miami does and you scratch your head. Ted Ginn Jr was a real reach with the 9th overall pick, but had we taken Brady Quinn instead, we still would not have our franchise QB, although you cannot always tell if a QB will be better off with another team...the smart pick would have been Patrick Willis.

Then we take a QB in three consecutive 2nd rounds (Beck, Henne and White). Maybe one of them will step up and have a solid career, but I also think is is fair to question these picks as well and to ask the question whether these were smart picks.

Consistent playoffs teams have stability at the QB spot. We have not had this since Dan Marino. I know a Franchise QB like Dan only comes along once in a great while and we may never get anyone close to him, but hopefully we can build a team that compete and win a SB, something Dan never achieved.

I don't think there is anything wrong with questioning the FO about our draft picks...we all want to win and we are all frustrated with being 0-3. Hopefully we can right the ship and make something out of 2009.

1. Sanchez has shown me that with a good offensive line, any qb can do well...hes not winning games...hes just not losing them...the jury is still out on him...

2. Sanchez, Ryan and Joe Flacco, were given, what Miami fans refuse to give Chad Henne...a chance to make the team his...you ask any New Yorker...there was no qb battle between Clemens and Sanchez for the number 1 job...it was Sanchez to lose from day 1...the same was extended to Ryan and Flacco...

Now, lets take Pennington's offense and alter it, to make Henne succeed, the way Baltimore, New York, and Atlanta did for their young qbs...

Baltimore didnt hand a starting job to Flacco. They had no intention of starting him as a rookie, but he came into camp and his play simply didnt justify having him on the bench. Some teams play their rookies right away, some dont. Aaron Rodgers sat for a long time, and he's done fine. Philip Rivers sat for a year. The difference is, those teams actually have offensive weapons that will allow a qb to make plays, unlike the Phins who have a 3some of midget possession guys and one semi raw speedster.

Man, finally an intelligent thread. There are just to many fans on this site who are way to trigger happy when it actually comes to evaluating players and their talent/ possible talent. If a player has good game they are the next all pro if he has a bad game cut him he is a bust.

We are only in the second season of rebuilding from a team that is 1 year removed from a 1-15 record, I repeat, 1 YEAR REVOVED FROM A 1-15 RECORD. Sure last year was great but it caused way to many people to get drunk on the Super Bowl or bust Kool-aid. Now these people can't believe that we still have a some work to do on the roster and they are venting their frustrations, albiet in some very rediculous ways. I actually saw a post where someone was calling for Thigpen to start immediatly.

I actually look forward to the rest of this season probably now more than ever. I want to see how this team resonds while starring down the face of adversity. I want to see if they pull up their boot straps the way they did last year when they were 2-4. I want to see them rally around Henne (the same way they did Pennington) and for him to take the next step in his maturation process. Lastly, I want to see this team improve in all aspects of the game the same way it did last year. If we can do these things I will not classify this season as a failure no matter what the record. The problem with all of these things is that they take time, time that 90% of the fans on this message board aren't willing to give.
