I, like many of you, are upset with Ross disrupting the organization with Karl Peterson. If you believe that we are on the right track with Parcells and his administration, let your voice be heard. Contact the Dolphins and create a firestorm that Ross does not want to take on. In this economy, Ross does not want to tick off his hard working customers.

If you other contact info, please feel free to add. Make a STINK!!! Use your voice and technology to get your way. Remember the Wanny years and season with Cam? Don't go back to those days!!!

The problem with this is; What real threat do we have? Are we really going to stop going to games, buying merch, etc? No. We can't, because then we won't be "real fans", will we.

I mean, I see no harm in this at all...Write all the letters you want. Thing is; Ross won't care. The NFL is a golden god. If Miami stops supporting the Dolphins because of this descision, there are a bunch of other cities slobbering to get thier hands on a franchise.

Maybe you don't go to games. Maybe you don't buy Fin gear. Question: IF Cam and Mueller would have stayed on, how many blackouts would have occurred? IMO, more than half. In this economy, if the ANY NFL team puts out a crap product it will not sell.

Look at Wild Card Weekend...all teams except the Fins had trouble selling out the stadium. It shows the economy is weak. Couple that with Peterson coming in and Parcells leaving...that place would be empty and as would Ross' pockets.

Asking fans to boycott thier team is begging the team to leave town. There are plenty of cities dieing for a franchise. The NFL would LOVE to move a team to LA. Personally, I haven't bought a sc rap of team gear since I got a mug for christmas 5 years ago....I just don't spend my money on gear, but, everyone loves jerseys and such. They aren't goign to give them up.

Great idea.. LOL, maybe because over lunch I was thinking of writing Ross a letter also, but sent to his RE empire headquarters:
Mr. Stephen M. Ross, Corporate Chairman
Related, LP
60 Columbus Circle
New York, NY 10023
(212) 421-5333

will try to secure an email addy too.

While it may end up being the equivalent of whistling into the wind, on the other hand, it certainly can't hurt.

This is the letter I am sending out tonight:

Dear Mr. Ross

Congratulations on your impending purchase of controlling ownership of the Miami Dolphins. I know that as a lifelong fan, having grown up in Miami, as much as the rest of us, you also bleed aqua and orange, and probably like us, have hemhorraged more of it since the departure of Don Shula.

What the team has accomplished in one year through the leadership and vision of Bill Parcells has been nothing but mind-boggling. We fans now have a cause for optimism, especially considering the people Bill has put into place who are answerable to him and the no-nonsense culture he's imparted onto all levels of the organization.

Frankly, to lose Bill now for fans, and for the organization, I fear would be like a punch in our guts. In the year he's been here, he's demonstrated that as the operating officer overseeing the Fins operation, he's been responsible, results-oriented and fiscally conservative with Wayne's money, unlike several of his predecessors. Long way of saying, I think I can speak for most fans, especially those on the popular Fins forums that it's essential Bill is retained and remains autonomous from visionary, continuity and staff loyalty standpoints. Please, please please, Mr Ross, do whatever is required to ensure Bill remains at our ship's helm. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Friendship and loyalty are admirable qualities and from everything I've heard, your friend Carl Peterson is a fine upstanding and honorable person. He's also someone who back in the 90s had a reasonable level of successes. However, please keep in mind that Dave Wannstedt was also a wonderful guy, and if you compared Pam Anderson, back in the 90s on Baywatch against recent pictures of her, it's painfully clear that the passing of time is seldom a friend, particularly when trying to recapture a lost "mojo."

Of course as the owner, it's your prerogative to make whatever moves you choose. I would merely respectfully remind you of last season's embarrassing sea of empty orange seats, the fans attending with bags on their heads, the ostracism on ESPN and by late night comedians and the blow back effect it had in driving attendance and sponsorship down.

While, Mr Ross, I don't purport to speak for everyone, I can safely state that my sentiments, as articulated here, do represent a substantial faction of Fins faithful who've had their hearts ripped out once and now having glimpsed a bright light at the end of short tunnel, I doubt have the patience or disposition to be a glutton for more punishment.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

I think it's a great idea, after all, we are the customer. I'm writing something.

While it is certainly a concern of mine that Ross will turn into some meddling owner who goes over the head of Parcells to bring in people he likes and has worked with, annoying Bill to the point of opting out. I don't think it's necessarily a BAD move bringing in Carl Peterson as long as Bill is ok with it, and as long as Parcells is nothing more than some kind of advisor/scout/ambassador to other teams. Peterson probably has maintained working relationships with other GM's in the league, perhaps he would benefit Ireland and Parcells in that manner.

I love the Stephen Ross business contact info. I am going to use it...That is great. BTW, the Miami Dolphins would never leave So. Fla.
