First after watching the game I must say I've lost faith in Tannehill. One week he plays slightly above average and the next two weeks he's a subpar Qb. I'm pretty sure he had consistenty issues in college too. But wow that early deep pass to Wallace could have easily been a Td if Tannehill could have actually hit Wallace in stride to the inside of the defender. Ahhhh I cringe every time I see our receivers (Wallace esp) having to wait for the ball because it's poorly thrown from Tannehill.

On top of his terrible deep balls his pocket awareness blows and he's only looking at his first read which is usually Wallace.. After watching him last year spread the ball out effectively, it's discouraging that in year 3 he's locked down on his primary read! Come on where is Hartline, Gibson, and Matthews!? If he was able to remain poise in the pocket or god forbid use his legs and find an open receiver we could have won that game.

I must add that I'm usually the biggest homer when it comes to the team and Tannehill but now I must stay objective because having unrealistic expectations only hurts in the end. I hope Tanne can prove me and all his haters wrong but I believe we're not gonna be real contenders as long as he's our starting Qb. This is a big if but IF he can successfully learn to use his legs to extend plays, he just might be alright. He's the type of Qb that needs to move around and throw on the run but as long as he stands like a statue in the pocket he won't be starting for too long.. Feels better to vent and I hope all of you can ffind some relief after that loss!

I can't agree with the argument that he is just locking on to Wallace and throwing him the ball. He's throwing to Wallace because Wallace is getting open. It's that simple. Mike Wallace is consistently getting open, and that's why he's being targeted.

Decisions have been pretty good by the QB. The throws have not.

I was waiting for them to move Tannehill outside the pocket, but we never did it. I don't know why...

The inability to drop a nice throw into a receiver down the field has gotten beyond old for me.

You can't progress through your reads with constant pressure in your face. Same reason last week Brady was constantly trying to force passes to Gronk in the 2nd quarter with little success.

There are two problems with this team throwing deep:

1. Tannehill is not very good at it. I don't think he is QUITE as bad as many believe, but he isn't going to throw the ball well there consistently.
2. We don't take many shots.

So you wind up 0/2 going deep with one awful throw and one drop by Hartline. They aren't high percentage throws, and the fact that we aren't good at them is actually made worse by not even trying them.

Week 1 he had a rushing game to take some pressure off of him. Week 2, no rushing game and he at this point in his career should be able to put the O on his shoulders and make the throws, but he cannot...

1. He has zero pocket awareness...He has to know that his oline is only slightly better then last year and you cannot hold the ball for 10 seconds...no he is not afraid to get hit, but he has to feel the pocket closing before the lineman or LB is grabbing him...he hasn't shown that...

2. He has never shown that he wants to run the ball...I saw him run once today, but he doesn't look for his openings. he gets tunnel vision in the pocket and never thinks to run, or get out of the pocket and extend the plays...I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS...Why doesn't he leave the pocket ever....use your legs to freeze the D and make a throw...

3. He pulled the Henne today...he couldn't make short passes because he was throwing the ball at 100 MPH...

4. He is throwing low again, and Dlinemen are getting hands on his throws...this may go back to pocket awareness...

5. Obviously he sucks at throwing longer than 15 yard passes

The D kept us in this game today until the end of the game. The o failed us and tannehill just does not look like he is a top 1/2 of the league qb...

As an outsider looking in. This is what I see with RT.

He looks like a Rookie QB with his inconsistent mechanics. Yes it is year 3. But when I watch his games over the years his mechanics have never progressed.

That could be two things
1. Like Tebow he will never progress in that area

2. He has never been properly coached there.

I lean toward 2 because that would make sense for me huring a QB coach guru as your OC. However there is only so much you can try to teach Mechanic wise when trying to install a entire new offense.

Another thing I see in him and you hit it was for an athletic QB he sure is a statue in the pocket and holds the ball forever. I wonder if that was coached into him years one and two but man it is maddening.

Correct me if I am wrong but this is only like year 4 or 5 of him ever playing QB right wasnt he a WR early in college?

For that reason I wouod noy throw him on the scrap heap just yet

Ya like the one he did for hartline???? Or sims and Wallace last week??? But those don't count because he missed one to Wallace today right?? That and it absolutely annihilates your point.

I hate to quote that a*****e Nick Saban, but I remember his press conference in which he said that the score didn't matter and to instead focus on the execution. That's why I'm done with Tannehill. I don't even care that they lost. JUST MAKE ONE G*****M PLAY DOWN THE FIELD. HIT ONE G*****M RECEIVER IN STRIDE. SHOW US ONE IOTA OF IMPROVEMENT. Second year players EJ Manuel and Geno Smith are exhibiting these signs of development. Third year player Ryan Tannehill has not.

The reason I want Moore to start is because he will allow us to see what we have with players like Landry, Sims, Hoskins, etc. This enables us to evaluate Hickey. Sure, Moore will make the occasional boneheaded play, but so what. Andrew Luck makes plenty of boneheaded plays and often redeems himself on the next series.

Look what is league AVG on deep balls last year? Something like 33%

So using math how do you expect to hit every one, specially when math and history say you are gonna hit 1 of 3.

So today if Hartline does what WRs should and catch the Ball RT is 50% on the day which is better than league AVG

I think there's a big difference in making that throw against Arkansas State from making it in the NFL.

Very true, but the conditions are the same. Wide-open guy down field and hit him in stride. More often than not, Tannehill would have over or under thrown that ball.

Dude, he did. He hit Brian Hartline right between the numbers on a 40 yard bomb. Hartline dropped it.

I'm not even defending the QB's play today but there is a difference between valid criticism (i.e. criticism that fits the facts) and criticism that is reliant on hyperbole.
