One of the things that are misunderstood in sports today is stats. We obviously know what the number 0 means during stats and that means no production. If there is another player who is putting peformance out there it will show in stats no matter what situation he is under wheather he is working as a "system" quarterback or a player who they are building a system around which I think its bullcrap. I can see how many people in here can name Joe Montana as a system quarterback when he clearly brought his team back from crap performances. He put stats out there until he retired.
We can also talk about Dan Marino, no matter how many mistakes he made out there he always finished the day with over 200 yards out there and completions at the right time. Stats do show how you are progressing but mistakes can also blow those stats up.
Let's take a look at stats in the offense, key players.
Quarterback Position-
Daunte Culpepper MIA
512(3rd in afc) Passing Yards 59 percentage completion 52 yards longest pass
8 passes over 20 yards and 1 pass for over 40 yards
He's not playing like Peyton Manning but Peyton does have his consistent supporting cast. Which Reggie Wayne and Harrison are respectively 2nd and 3rd in receiving in the afc when Chambers is at 13 in receiving. They are performing and stats are showing that.
Chris Chambers-
He's dropped the ball a lot lately and doesn't seem to be concentrating. However he is not performing at all.
114 yards whic his ranked at 13 in the afc
7 First Downs(horrible)
9 receptions(he should be making more than that)
Randy McMichael
4 receptions for 44 yards, unacceptable
Ronnie Brown
30 attempts at a 100 yards 2 touchdowns
I think He can be excusable because our offensive line.
Bottomline is, Don't blame the play at the quarterback when he clearly isn't getting any support.
