A couple that come to mind
  • How would you manage Me-First star players?
  • Looking over the roster, itemize what you think are the strengths & weaknesses?
  • If you were the 2018 Fins HC, how would you have done things differently and why?
  • Name 3 realistic DCs and OCs you would go after... and why?
  • If you've already been a HC, what hard lessons have you learned and how would that benefit the Fins?
etc.

for starters

I'd add in:
  • Have you ever been diagnosed with any sort of social or psychological disorder?
  • Can you give me an example of a time you have been extremely frustrated by the actions of another person, but found a constructive solution?
  • If you create a good gameplan but your players show that they are incapable of executing that gameplan, how do you address the situation?
  • Are you OK with having a losing record in your first year as head coach of the Miami Dolphins while contracts are cleared off the books?

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be?

What would you do for a Klondike Bar?

Given the current roster, who would you bop in the bop shubop shubop, and why would you wham their wham-alama ding-doing?

Are you OK with losing in order to win?

How would you define the term "ground and pound?"

What's the difference between "best in show, best in breed and best in class?"

Do you prefer Manhattan's, Martini's or Sex on The Beach?

Ask him what traits he looks for in a quarterback - what weaknesses he believes are correctable and which one's are not...
Repeat the question to Chris Grier...
Ask Grier how many times he's ever been asked that question...

Have you ever competed in FinHeaven March Madness ? If so did you win ?

If not

I would like to know about adjustments- I'm not sure about how I would phrase the question, but I would like to know how a coach would adjust to certain things, his history of adjustments made, something along those lines. Facing Bellicheck, you know he's never bringing the same thing against you. I don't want a coach who says, "this is the way we do it" and tries to do something all game long that won't work. You have to adjust in the NFL, and this past season, I feel as though Gase got out coached/out adjusted in the second halves of games. We need someone who will respond with his own adjustments.
So something related to that.

I got some more suggestions:

  • Do you think it's possible for offensive linemen to properly pick up a defensive stunt?
  • What's your favorite scene in The Naked Gun?
  • Is a parachute not opening a good way to die?
  • Would you ever dismiss an assistant coach because you felt he was "too hip hop?"
  • How many quarterbacks would you ideally keep on your 53 man roster?

I'd also require the finalists to spend some off campus time with Grier to determine how coincident their philosophies, styles and objectives are. I know for a first hand fact that what looks great on paper doesn't always work out if there's a lack of chemistry.. which no one can predict until they spend informal time with each other.

One multiple choice question

What is you feeling on O line coaches snorting coke in their office ?

(a) Fire immediately and notify authorities
(b) Discipline for not sharing with the rest of the staff
(c) I prefer Pepsi
