From what i heard isnt culpepper not going to be ready until mid season???

Does that worry any of u. Who is gonna play QB for us?

I really think Culpepper will be ready by start of the season. The media loves to blow these injuries way out of proportion.

Adam Schefter said on Total Access that DC should be ready to go opening week.

Well look at the facts

He tore 3 ligaments in the knee. This isn't nearly as bad as Robert Edwards when he got injured on the beach. He came back and was able to play. Then you have McGahee whose injury was very close to Culpeppers. And he was able to be very effective and get back to form. So to answer the original post, no I am not worried. As far as when Culpepper will be ready, most reports say that he'll be in shape by the 1st three weeks of the season, not mid-season. Hey, I am just so satisfied and happy that we have a REAL starting QB. Finally.....

But not during the preseason? Dont like it one bit.
Anyone here have major knee surgery?
2 years. It is very likely he is not 100% until 2007. And a CPep who isnt as mobile may have everyone (himself, team, fans) in some rough waters in '06. Just dont go nuts if it happens, this is a long term acquisition.

didn't McGahee sit out his rookie year? That's extra recovery time DC won't get. Good thing is DC is a QB and not a RB.

People need to stop worrying about the knee. Lets not forget if we got Brees we would be in the same boat except his surgery was in January. I had major knee surgery in June and I am back to 90-95%. I have played QB for a flag league and felt comfortable and I am sure I didnt rehab like Daunte.

FYI I had a MCL and ACL tear. The PCL just adds some time to the rehab process. I was rehabbing the next day after surgery, I think with the PCL you have to wait a few weeks.

I heard Scheftner say the same thing, however guys like Joe Rose and Fat Hank were talking October before he comes back. The media might like to blow things out of proportion, but the doctors have already said that this is a calendar year recovery time. That would be mid November...even if he is a month ahead of schedule, that's mid October...I am doubting that he will be back before at least October...

Recovery time for that type of injury is 9-18 months. 9 months would mean that he'd be ready in August. From what we've heard, and we'll know more today, Culpepper is ahead of schedule in his rehab. I would think that means that Daunte will be close to that August timeframe. We'll sign Tommy Maddox (they contacted his agent yesterday), and maybe he has to start the first 3 or 4 games. But, he's as good as Frerotte, so we're no worse off.

from what you heard? Oh wow, let me guess, someone from some other teams radio station? Lets just let the dust settle and we will hear it straight from teh man right here in town. Okee dokee?

I think that Zach should let Daunte use his hyperbaric chamber and maybe that will speed up the recovery!!

The mid season time frame is straight from Dr. Andrews mouth. He stated, after the surgery that the time frame for recovery of this type of injury is a calendar year. That would make his 100% recovery date be mid-November.

That said, DC is said to be somewhat ahead of schedule, but to realistically think that he'll be ready in August is dreaming with this injury...

No doubt about it....No way he starts the season...As a matter of fact the only way he plays this year is if we dont make the playoffs.

I think Pep has enough money to buy his own chamber, he makes as much or more than Zach!!
