I think we have to keep Ricky for this season.
It seems like Ronnie has alot of raw talent but at teh moment he doesnt cut and find the holes like Ricky.
So I think now Saban knows eachs streghts and weaknesses.
Ronnie is a great reciever and outside runner.
Ricky is a good short yardage back, despite being smaller than ronnie and Ricky can make mroe out of nothing.
Chambers had a great year espcially since he had Gus Frerotte as his QB.
Booker remains a solid #2 and Welker is a very good #3. David Boston is just pathetic.
But Chambers up until week the raiders game didnt have a 100 yd game all season. He had aot of drops and wasnt coming back to the ball. I think that we cant invest our entire recieving corps in him.
McMike still hasnt really lived up to the Hype that he creates for himself. I think by getting Teyo Johnson. McMike should get that extra push he needs.
The QB situation is a huge ? mark.
Do we keep Frerotte and get Cutler?
Do we sign a McNair or another high profile QB?
Do we Trade Ricky for Carr??
To me keeping Frerote and drafting our best avaliable QB, iso ur best option.
Cutler has the best mechanics in the draft and should be a solid NFL QB. Frerotte despite being shaky at times and kind of a moron (ran into a wall head first) can still throw the ball.
Defensivly.
Our D-line despite being very old, still has some solid years left.
JT is one of, if not the best DEs in teh NFL.
Carter is a solid pass rusher and a very good DT/DE combo player
Holliday si a good run stuffer and did have 5 sacks.
D-BO is a great pass rusher, getting 6 sacks in limited play time.
Zgonina is 37 next year but still plays at a decent level.
Traylor is old as well but is just a clogger.
Manny Wright showed some promise in limited playing time.
Roth is ok. To me he wasnt as godo as we expected but he has alot of raw talent and could develop.
The Linebacking Corp is pretty good.
Zach Thomas despite all the dumb@** critics, saying he dosnt play at a high level, isnt physical enough, doesnt have the skills of Lewis, Urlacher and Wilson. Those guys can shove it. Year after Year Zach is the most consitent player in the NFL. He is all over the place and makes every tackle it seems.
I was very impressed w/ Channing Crowder, he came in w/ alot of injury talk and off field problems. Nick gave him a chance and once Seau got hurt, Crowder was ready for takeoff. Channing has the skills and showed after time that he can make alot of big plays for us.
The other LB position is a question.
Spragan is solid but i dont think he can be an every down LB.
Seau is gone next year.
Moore will never get off IR.
I think we should either sign a young guy or draft a 2nd/3rd rounder much liek Crowder was.
Our secondary is horrible.
CBs
Madison really inst anywhere near wut he used ot be. He is still a solid CB, but for the money, he isnt worth it.
Howard just plain SUCKED.
Daniels did a pretty good job thsi year and will get better.
Poole coming off of IR, might not be that good initially but...
he will be a solid dime/nickle player.
Safteys
Schulters made soem nice plays for us, but he got beat alot thsi season. (Doug Jolley, that was pathetic). But keepign him would be a good idea.
Tebucky Jones needs ot be cut, He doesnt play well and never has.
Yerimiah Bell is an excellent special teamer and i think we shoudl give him more time at Saftey.
Traveres Tillman was pretty good this season and fileld in nicely.
Special teams was icnredible.
Olindo Mare got a solid bounce back season, despite missing some easy FGs.
Matt Turk was forgotten by the incredible play of Donnie Jones.
Welker continued to be a huge contibutor.
The others such as Sammy Morris, Yerimiah Bell and Spragan played huge roles.
All in All our defense is still solid and our Offense should be a top 15 next year.
