I know everyone thinks he's a bust, and not made for the NFL game, but lets hold off for one second. We know what we have in Pennington, but NO ONE can say for sure what we have in beck, we've seen glimpses of things we don't like (i.e. fumbled snaps and some poor throws) but how can we say for sure that thats all he has to offer. Like the Chargers did with Brees, they gave him the opportunity to either play himself out of the league or create some great trade value, and in Bree's case he blossomed into a great QB. We will still have pennington there to groom Henne for the future, whether or not Beck turns into something special. This will kill 2 birds with one stone, allowing Henne the time to learn the NFL game at his own pace with Pennington on the sideline, and definitively found out what we have in Beck, that way we will not feel that he wasn't given a fair shot to prove himself in real live action (which i believe he hasn't been afforded). To me this team is no good with Pennington behind center anyway so if he does continue to start we will lose the opportunity to learn what we have at our QB position. I know people will say Beck had a chance in the few appearances he had last year but that team and coaching system was a joke so he was destined to fail as our whole team did.

I agree Beck may deserve a chance, but we already know Henne is the future QB of this time. If Pennington isn't under center for this team, it should definitley be Henne.

NO!...........Thank you and good night!

He may be the QB of the future but he's not ready right now so lets not waste time with Pennington and explore our other young QB. He can equate to future draft picks to better our team

That is a sick Av bro. Bioshock was awesome.

As for Beck, If pennington continues this dull offensive play, yeah why not give Beck a game or two. Then if hes terrible, completely hand the team in Henne.

But, if they wanna go right to henne im alright with that too.

Explain why not
First off I understand what you are thinking, but he is not a BP’s kind of guy, if we play him and he SUCK’S we get nothing for him in a trade. If we don’t play him, he’s still an untapped QB that may have potential for someone! I believe Henne is the future and Beck is just stuck at #3. That’s it!

I'd say this is a fair compromise for all those that still are so curious about what Beck may have to offer.

Play him against our absolute best option to win (probably St. Louis at the moment) and if he isn't able to move the chains in the first half get him out of there. Maybe give him another game opportunity or two under easy conditions, see what happens.

Under NO circumstances should Beck see the field during the New England game though, unless Penny and Henne both die between now and Sunday.

I'm all for playing Beck, if Penny gets hurt, Henne goes in and he gets hurt, and Quincy Carter is not in attendence at the game that day. Earn your playing time !!!!!!
If the coaches think Beck should play, then he will, and i'll root for him. Until then, leave him where he is.

Ah, lets not

At this point it couldn't hurt but I don't see what the use is. Beck isn't the answer. He's a turnover machine and when he drops back to pass I begin looking for something to vomit in. That guy is about as lost as last year's Easter egg.

Ahhh... Pennington is the future guys.. He;; atleast play for us for another 2 years, starting! i think... unless he completely blows it all

Our team is a travesty. So you want to once again throw Beck into the fire so he can be beaten down to a pulp AGAIN?

The very best thing for Becks development, especially after last years fiasco is that he continues to develop under the radar for at least the next 2 seasons. Henne has shown that he is light years ahead of Beck at the pro level.

If we're on a ship takin on water for the remainder of the season, I think last year has proven the old tried and true method of sitting a rookie Qb is best. That throwing a young inexperienced QB wont win you games, and you could very well break that QBs confidence.

Pennington is here to bridge the gap. Its not a solid bridge, but more like one of the rope bridges that sways mightily in the wind.

Beck needs a season where he isnt in the spotlight and a deer in the headlights.

No to Beck. Just not right now.

I more than most wanted to see Beck thrive this year, but it just didn't happen. Until this season is completely lost, I just don't see us starting Beck. I think his fumbling problems are a symptom of a confidence issue. Beck also seemed scared to throw downfield to the wide receivers during camp and preseason games. If the guy is checking the ball down in camp practices, what's he going to do during regular season games?

If we're at like 0-6, then I see no reason not to give Beck a stretch of games and then give Henne a stretch of games. Till then, Pennington is still our best option.
