Lets Review our next opponent of course which is the Chiefs.

1. High Scoring Team that has played against some mediocre defenses

Bengals 24th in the league
San francisco 29th in the league
Arizona 25th in the league

They respectively scored 6 points against denver and 7 against pittsburgh which their defense gave up 46 points in that game. This is a very interesting match-up because Tony Gonzalez will have a much harder time playing against our linebackers which are Channing Crowder, Thomas and Spragan than when he played us one day against Derick Rodgers and Morlon Greenwood. Not to mention that they are having some really good consistency from veteran Damon Huard(remember him).

Their Rankings

13 in the league overall offense (9th rushing, 17 passing)
14 in the league in defense (13 against pass and 16 against rush)

Very simple, we do have a couple of match up's because their secondary isn't the best and the fastest in the league. It all comes up to our play at quarterback and how we execute in offense. We need Harrington to play a near perfect game for us and our receivers and ronnie to step it up and make the best out of their abilities. Our defense will play against a tough offensive line but I see no problem with us winning this one.

Stop Johnson, make Huard beat us.

And for the record, I liked Huard a lot when he was here. I often wonder how things would have went if Wannstedt started Huard instead of Fiedler.

We would have stunk. He was hesitant and indecisive. He has bounced around the league for a reason.

That is easier said than done buddy. Look at the San Diego game, the "experts" have crowned them the best defense in the league and he ran all over them. Brian Waters will be out for this game which will affect him, but he did run all over the rams without him. Your defense is much better than the rams, but LJ is never easy to stop

That's cool but, don't get carried away with the smack....we keep that to a minimum in this forum.

Easy on the smack there fella

In order to accurately review your opponent...wouldn't you have to list things POSITIVE about them too, instead of leaving them out due to blind homerism?

Let's look at the things you left out:

-KC gained lots of yards on Denver and San Diego (both teams have a way better defense than miami) and the seahawks defense isn't a walk in the park either.

-KC is 5-3 against a tougher schedule than the dolphins. You are 2-6.

-You lost to the Bills, Texans, Jets, and Packers. I'm sorry but none of those teams are any good. At least KC beat most of their crappy opponents.

It's almost funny that every message board I go to of the team KC is going to play next... they all say the same thing:

-stop LJ, make huard beat us

which is funny, because if they do somehow magically stop LJ, then huard does typically beat them.

-We can cover Tony Gonzalez

No. No you cant. Not if you are going to shut down LJ and put 8 or 9 guys in the box.

-We should win this game

I don't really have a problem with this one, but everyone says it, and sometimes people are perhaps a little too confident. You are going to face a better KC team than you did last year.

I can't believe how some people in Miami are overlooking this game. Kansas City is no joke this year, and if you think your win against the bears somehow gives you the ability to beat the chiefs, you are mistaken. (6 turnovers is a game you should win, regardless of opponent). Miami has for the most part, not been a good team this year. When you look at ALL games played of the two teams, KC clearly looks to be the better team thus far.

Do I think KC will win? Yes.
Do I think it will be a walk in the park? No.
Do I think Miami can win? Yes.

And I expect you fans to be confident Miami can win, that is part of being a fan. But please, don't be a homer and leave things out to make your opponent seem easier.

If it was a different week I would feel that we were going to lose but timing is everything in sports. Your defense will be hamstrung by the injuries to Hali and DJ. That should give us a little bit of an easier time running and passing. On the other side of the ball Waters injury hurts. Probably not as much as I would hope so I think LJ will still be a tough problem for us to overcome. I think KC goes into the game with a slightly better matchup but I think the Dolphins may come out on fire which would tilt that advantage to us. This game will determine whether last week was a fluke or whether last week was the point in the season where the lights came on. I expect Gonzalez to have a good game but I think the key will be whether we can create pressure on Huard the way we did Grossman. If we do we win.

Gonzo always gives us fits. He creates a mismatch for us that we've not been able to solve....

Good points there. Those are the things i'm afraid of.

the dolphins do have one of the best run defenses in the league... our YPC is slightly scewed from that one run from ahman green (i dont know where that came from)... but for the most part our run defense has been very good... better than san diego and denver

even with that 1 80 yard run by green our YPC is 3.4 4th best in the league... without that 1 run we could really be at like 3 ypc and only behind baltimore... but we did give it up so even with that 3.4 ypc thats better than denver and san diego

You are assuming the other teams didn't have big runs against them.

You do make a good point though. Your run defense will probably be tough. But then again, so were the other teams LJ ran over. Teams have been stacking the box on him, and usually he still gets his yards (assuming the defense plays well and keeps the game close, so that we don't abandon the run early)

Should be an interesting matchup

Really ran over the Cards, didn't he?

In all seriousness, LJ has finally hit that high gear. He'll definitely be tough to stop. That's not a good thing. He seems to have been finding the endzone more as of late, too. He did not score quite as much in the first quarter of the season. Can he be stopped? Definitely. And I believe Miami is the team to do it. I am actually a little more anxious about Huard. LJ, though, is LJ. He will get his score. Just as long as Miami keeps that score to one, this game should be close.

If KC comes out with an early lead, Miami may have to punch that ticket. I am not confident that this offense can come back from behind, especially a 2 TD or more lead.

So, with that, here is the game plan:

1. Stop LJ - Not happening. At least, not completely stopping him. He will score at least one.

2. Get to Huard early and hard - Has he even been tested yet? Miami can do it. I just hope he doesn't get off to a good start.

3. Stop Gonzo - Yeah right! Our LBs and safeties do not match up. But of course, what team's LBs and safties do???

All in all, Miami wins. I have referred to my Magic 8 Ball, it says "All signs point to yes"......

Our chances our good. We got momentum after a huge road win. We're at home. The stadium will be pretty full even with us being 2-6 people will show appreciation for shutting down the bears by showing up I imagine. We're good against the run and that's their bread and butter. The chiefs don't have the best defense to my knowledge so Ronnie should have a nice day. It should be a nice RB vs LJ day. They got a real good OLine but we have good run D. Should be an interesting matchup.
