How then do the phins proceed?

I see a few interesting possibilities....

1) Make Lazor HC & bring in Rhett Lashlee (Auburn) as OC. He & Billl would share game planning and play calling duties.
2) Get Art Briles (Baylor) who is an offensive minded HC and let him decide to do w/ Coyle.
3) Get Hugh Freeze from Ole Miss who I understand is defensive minded and let him decide Lazor's fate

Lazor, really? How can anyone support his candidacy for HC given his work with the team so far? Sure, he SOUNDs like an HC, but he isn't even being successful at OC right now. No way is he an option if things stay like this...

The strategy should be to snag Harbaugh with a huge offer. If that fails, get the best college HC coach who will take the job.

I've sick of hiring unproven college or NFL assistants that have to learn on the job. No thanks! Harbaugh for me.

Lets say Philbin is fired tonight. Can we bring in Marty Ball or Dan Reeves to finish the season? I dont care for Lazor or Coyle finishing it up.

We went within an inch of beating a very good team. I'm disappointed by the result but Aaron Rodgers is one of the best QBs and he got them home in the final seconds. It's ridiculous to be speculating about firing Philbin based on losing this game.

I'd take Rex at this point. But we'll probably wind up with some ****stick o-line coach from Jacksonville after Ross tries the forced marriage **** again and none of the top candidates want to work with Hickey or Aponte. Maybe Ross will make his little butt boy Matt Higgins the head coach.

Sparano also "came close" to beating several elite teams - but he never did. It became a trend, and eventually he was fired. It's the same thing here... We've been here before with Philbin, why are you hanging on to a fantasy that it will end with a different result?

That game was loss due to numerous bad decisions and a lack of offensive execution in the first half...we were fortunate to be in it at the end...and failed once again.

Don't even care if this is 100% facetious, I'd be down with this.

Philbin is done. I believe Ross is already planning to replace him at season's end. We are not making the playoffs and he knows that's what it will take for him to stay, as we would need to go 8-3 for that to happen, and it ain't happening. Draft Gurley and get a proven NFL veteran coach and that just might finally put us in the playoffs.
