Will he risk waiting for him to be released or go after him via trade?

I'd trade for him. Too much competition once he gets released. I think the Eagles would take just about anything for him.

If we're serious about wanting Owens, it would be wise to trade for him. Less bidding competition for his services. Once he's on the market, there could be a tidal wave of suiters....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

let's say Saban does NOT want a cancer in HIS lockeroom...

The argument would be: Potential cancer in the locker room VS: Known terror on the playing field!

I think Saban's Disciplinarian mind will choose on the side of the scoreboard.

With that said, would you be "upset" if the Dolphins did not land TO?

not me, we will get where we want to go without him, let him tear up and divide someone elses locker room.

What makes anyone think that Nick would ever put up with anyone who goes out of his way to avoid practices? It happened habitually in SF, and it continued in PHL. A "sprained pinky finger" (or any exaggerated injury) would cause TO to sit out any physical practices. Saban shows no ability to overlook that crap, therefore I see this as wasted talk....thankfully.

I would be upset because whoever gets him next year will be an improved team and I think a weapon like that, which Saban can control, would get us one step closer to a super bowl in our home city.......also after we get a receiver we can look to trade for a qb like brees, rivers, or pick a great potential qb in the draft like cutler.

Well it's kinda a win/win thing. If we don't get him then it's because Saban decided that he isn't the best for our team. Which I'm cool with. He knows a heckuva lot more than I do.

But just imagine TO on one side with CC on the other with Ricky and Ronnie in the backfield. Don't forget about McMichael and Booker too. How could a defense cover them all? Everyone would demand double coverage!

Agreed. Although, I am opposed to him being here....I do agree that it can be win/win. If we don't get him and he does well somewhere else (which I doubt that will happen without distractions) I forsee alot fans being in an uproar because they knew he would be a model citizen here etc.

So, while it can be win/win, it could be lose/lose from other fans perspectives.
