A wise man once said "Focus on the solution, not the problem."

My suggestions for solutions -

1) GET SOME DAMN LINEBACKERS. People who can make tackles and have the brains to read plays. I know it's a lot to ask for but where are the Zach Thomas guys who are involved in every play? LB's who put their bodies on the line for the team every single down!

2) Draft and/or Sign a big name, big bodied, deep threat, true #1 WR! Andre Johnson and Aquan Boldin have both publicly said they would like to play in Miami. They might be hard to get but at least put some effort in. Draftwise, Dez Bryant is obviously the guy to go for, but am sure there are big physical guys with big play ability.

3) Let Henning go and bask in retirement. Bring in a solid OC with NFL experience. Someone who knows how to play to our strengths and doesn't call "trick" plays when our offense is in a rhythm. (Charlie Weis? hate the guy but he was a great OC for the patsies during their SB runs)

4) A good safety would be nice to compliment Bell.

5) A new, fiery Defensive Coordinator would be great for our team. A guy with the knowledge and personality similar to Mike Singletary! A coach with leadership skills that can get our guys focused and amped up for 60 minutes.

6) Add depth to the lines and other positions. (Might need to replace Ferguson, he's old and has had many injuries. He's good but his time may be up)

7) Consider switching back to the 4-3. Our D-line is solid, especially when everyone is healthy. Don't understand why we would put more LB's on the field in the 3-4 when LB is our weakest position! A 4-3 puts pressure on the QB and will help our secondary.

Let the ideas flow....

There is a little back at Mississippi named Dexter McCluster who can break it anytime.....if he is around in the 3rd round we should take a look at him. We defnitely need some LB's who can tackle.....Rolando McClain would be my first round pick. If not him McClain, then maybe Dez Bryant. See if we can sign some some quality free agents. I would keep Henne and Thigpen as our QB's....not sure if I would keep Pat White. Gibril Wilson and #33 Jones I hope are gone next year.

Pat white has to go, would be surprised if any team picks him up, "Gerbil" better not still be on the squad but Nate Jones has shown some upside, although today he was terrible. I agree with you about McCluster. I'm a Gator so I have seen McCluster live in the swamp. He's a force when he gets in open field. Somewhat concerned about his size but the weight room is always open.

there are a few axiums in football one you can never have enough pass rushers or CB's so lets not forget those needs aswell.

But I feel there must be an upgrade at ILB & FS on defense
A WR would be a positive but Im not sure that if a TE that can open the middle of the field might not help the exsisting wr's....that being said a stud WR ala Marshall or A.Johnson would be awsome they just dont grow on trees and the cost of accuiring one might be too high.

Coaches well Im conflicted here, I have been a major supporter of all three coaches Sparano, Henning & Pasqauloni but the last month and a half has me very concerned about whether these guys are the right guys.

Henning im my opinion has been solid yes I know his gimmick's at times are annoying but you must admit that williams in motion fake to ricky handoff to Hartline TD was cool, Pasqualoni is the one that may need to be adressed more directly he has shown a propensity to be somewhat conservative and predictable and his defense the last month of the season when it was crunch time constantly put the offense in a major hole.

Time will tell but something tells me this team will take a status queo approach and try to improve the talent on the roster

Any price for those guys is not too high IMO. I believe the benefit would be much greater than the cost. We have the cap room, and a big WR would help Henne and every other player on offense especially our other WR's and the running backs.

I agree with you on the other points.

Andre Johnson is untouchable IMO. Brandon Marshall will probably be protected by franchise or transition tag and traded though.

We should not switch back to a 4-3. We also have depth to the line. You are forgetting that Paul Solai was not originally a starter, but he is definitely holding his own. Yes, we need a wide receiver. I have not been paying too much attention to college football this year, so i would not know who to draft this year. As for a safety, I think we could use Clemens, Nate Jones, or even put Jason Allen at safety instead of Gibril. I have no idea what to think for offensive coordinator, but i know that we need a new defensive coordinator. Steve Spagnuolo anyone?

Henning is very predictable in his playcalls....you can almost bank on it that when Miami gets in scoring position the gadgets coming out...over and over and over and over and over again....

The reverse to Hartline worked today...ok great....the other reverse in scoring position didn't.....and how many touchdowns have been left off the board this year because of gadget playcalling....more than a few...and sometimes even resulting in turnovers (look no further than Ricky's INT).....which is why we're always having to watch Sparano bounce up and down and act like he just won the lottery after settling for field goals when they should be touchdowns..

unless you want to trade a 2nd round pick, and another 2nd day pick for Anquan Boldin, and then give him a fat new contract, he aint coming to Miami

Andre Johnson?? WTF??? how are the dolphins gonna get him?

Terrell Owens aint comin here with him and Parcells history

Brandon Marshall? ha... u think Parcells is gonna go after a headcase WR

Miles Austin could be a target, but will they wanna give up the draft picks and then give him a huge contract (which he will want).... my bet would be he stays in Dallas

best bet would be drafting one... but I doubt they take one in the 1st round.... I'd expect the WR's to be similar to the ones from this past year.... although I think theres a chance Ginn could be traded.... Hartline, Camarillo, and Bess will likely be the top 3 guys next year, and Ginn will be in that mix unless hes traded

7) Consider switching back to the 4-3. Our D-line is solid, especially when everyone is healthy. Don't understand why we would put more LB's on the field in the 3-4 when LB is our weakest position! A 4-3 puts pressure on the QB and will help our secondary.

I like that one. I posted similar in another thread a few minutes ago before seeing yours.

The 3-4 is ridiculous, IMO. No one ever grows up dreaming about being a 3-4 end. It's a series of concessions designed to limit vulnerability instead of asserting strength.

Football is increasingly boring compared to my youth and one glaring reason is fewer dominant defensive lines.

I also think we should go back to the 4-3 defense. I mentioned it earlier this year here and was told it was a stupid idea

Those are the WR's you want starting on this team next season?? You have got to be joking.

-go back to 4-3 until we get the necessary linebackers

-Draft a FS or LB that can cover a TE

-Trade for a WR

DT and OLB can wait

I agree that LB speed and ability, a number 1 WR, and better safety play should be priorities.

Swithcing to a 4-3 would be foolish. We really do not have the LBs to play a 4-3.
