QB's
A.J. Feeley threw the ball 7 times connected on 4 of them for 35 yards sacked twice injured by Urlacher on vicious forearm tackle that sent him flying backwards and injured his *** cheeks again and did not return but he is fine . A.J. does not have the time to sit in the pocket when it breaks down. He does not have good pocket awareness he is going to get killed out there. On 2 occassion he could of ran for the yardage but instead held it way to long and gets panicky and just stands there!! RUN MAN RUN!! He showed me some nice outs but, that's it nothing to impressive down field. The pass to Thompson was his fault he threw a duck way to high for him to make the grab. Hopefully A.J. will be better against the Jags. HOPEFULLY.
Gus Frerotte played a tad bit more and threw the ball 17 times connected on 11 of them for 143 yards and 1 TD to Bryan Gilmore on a spectacular catch that was way behind him for the TD. He looked IMO way better that Feeley. But still would like to see more. Starter for far IMO. Let's see next game.
Sage Rosenfels threw the ball 9 times and connected on 6 of them for 58 yards and a TD to Rader. IMO he did a really nice job moving us down the field. He will make this team.
Brock Berlin threw the ball 14 times and connected on 11 of them for 117 and 1 INT very late in the game which should have not been thrown but, he a rook and he will learn from his mistakes. IMO he will make the practice squad. He has potential.
All of our quarterbacks did not look great but, some of them looked good/ some bad/ some ugly which I was expecting REALLY.
RB's
Lamar Gordon - poor vision 3 carries -1 yard. I think if RB signs soon he will be traded or cut.
RW - has a long way to go but, I thought his first burst was good. He will be OK. Only 5 carries though can't judge.
Sammy Morris - Ran hard. He so desperately wants to on the team.
Travis Minor - Ran hard. He will make this team for his ST skills.
Kay Jay Harris - Needs improvement. Good blocker though.
WR's
Chambers - non factor 1 catch for 44 yards which he made a nice play on coming back an catching underthrown ball from Frerotte. I was shocked they did not throw his way. HMMMMM. But he is a stud he just needs time to get open. IMO.
Booker - 2 catches for 31 yards. I really thought he was trying to impress the Bears with his first catch of the game right next to their sidelines for a first down. He directed a gesture toward their bench. He'll be okay. Just needs to do more to get open.
Boston - 3 catches for 29 yards. He impress me with his route running. Has some quickness and some burst for YAC. He is a keeper.
OL - still can not pick-up blitzers. Hopefully this improves.
DL- We had no sacks and hardly no pressure. We must improve this next game.
LB- I thought did quite well. I like Channing Crowder. He may be very well be a back-up to Seau when the season starts. Very impressive.
CB's - Got burned a lot. I think we need some more practice with them. They need to shore this up. I saw a lot of mis-assignments and bad coverage. We are still going to need help in this area. I feel we will do better on Saturday against the Jags.
Safteies - Were at times out of position but, Grossman could not connect. Thank God. But they also need to shore this up. I also feel we will do better there as well on Saturday.
ST's - I thought every time Welker or Minor would break one they both have speed and quickness to get to the open field. Also Welker a a change of pace WR is good option. He can catch 5 yard slant in and break a long gain every time.
People this team is not far off just some tweaks here and there and we should be fine. Also, expect us to do a bit better against the Jags. Saban is a hard nose coach he will get them to play better bank on it.
