Levy's Comments About Mularkey Leaving/Joining Fins

Thanks nubs, I hope saban lets mularkey add his own wrinkles to our playbook, 1. mularkey's offense is very qb friendly 2. I would think that saban would empower his assistants and trust their knowledge base.....

mularkey should be able to put in some wrinkles i have heard nothing but good things about him but the only knock on him is he is sometimes to predictable..:dolphins:

im not sure where you guys heard anything positive about mularky or why you think he should have any influence over our offense. it was a pure desperation move on saban's part after losing linehan to get a guy that has experience. mularky was ridiculed in pittsburgh and buffalo for his gimmick offenses and his stay in south florida will be short-lived.

Actually he was highly regarded in Pittsburgh.
His work with Pitt's offense is what made him a HC candidate.

If that isn't a ringing endorsement I don't know what is!
Talk about making chicken salad out of chicken shiznit!

I definatly think MM will be able to put his stamp on our offense... I just think the main thing, will be keeping the terminology the same. I think it will evolve into more of MM's offense over time... this just makes the transition smooth instead of dropping the old one... and starting a new one from scratch.

However, their offenses have very similar philosophies... Balanced, aggressive, and creative...

All Saban will really need to handcuff MM on is playcalling near the goalline. Like Linehan, MM has a tendency of throwing near the goalline instead of running it. MM also will sometimes try to use a trick plays on the goalline to catch the defense off-guard... but ends up over-thinking it... like Linehan.

As long as Saban has him on the sideline like he had Linehan in the 2nd half of the season... we will be straight...

Most people wanted Mularkey to go in Buffalo. He's just not a good head coach. This is just talking of him as a head coach, cause I think he can be a good OC but he had no control of the Bills locker room last year. Kelly Holcomb never should've been starting some of the games when Losman was healthy. He was very good in Pittsburgh, but I think he got the job because of Donahoe. I hate to crack on a guy because I think he'll be a good OC.

I think the way Mularky thinks is the same way Linehan thinks in a lot of ways. No two people are the same but I think the main thing Saban has in mind is that the terminology will stay the same and alot of the succesful plays already implemented will stay the same. Mularky can add his offense as he goes. I think that is to his advantage not the other way around.

Saban isnt saying Mularky cant run his own offense, he is saying the mechanics will stay the same, doesnt mean Mularky isnt going to use a double reverse flee flicker.

i think eventually Mularky could be a good HC. As you mentioned, he was a Donohoe guy, and there in lies the real problem. He had the man telling him what to do as far as controlling people and that is not mularkys style IMO. He was a yes man who's back was covered by the man which also runs counter productive to Mularky when things go bad.

I think next time, Mularky might be wiser. But I think he also realizes that he should put in more years as a OC and he knows learning under Saban is a brilliant move.

What made him desperate? The Senior Bowl? Saban could have done that himself, (I dont know for sure if MM went but either way doesnt matter.)

What in Sabans history tells you that he would ever make a move out of desperation?

Ridiculed in Pitt? someone is taking you for a long ride to believe that one.

Funny stuff....desperation...

Plus some comments by Neil O'Donnell about Mularkey.

BTW, I think the recent comments by Jim Kelly on Ricky and this by Levy just goes to show you its all about who is getting the attention in Buffalo and not truly building a team. It should be fun watching Levy get schooled by Saban and BB.:D

you really have no idea what you're talkin about. If he wasn't highly respected in Pitts, then why was he such a hot commodity when hired by buffalo?:shakeno: :shakeno:
