Crowder is pretty talented and was viewed as a 1st round prospect coming out of college except for the injury bug which pushed his stock down plus he came out early. You have to realize Crowder played OL and ILB for us so he has the tools as long as he can keep his wheels on. It is obvious that Bill Parcells and CO do not see him as their protype LB but hopefully they are not overlooking him somewhat. The FA LB that they picked up certainly did not impress. All those guys are/were big but most were slow and poor in pass coverage. IMO the draft this year will bring 2/3 LB into the fold and thats "why" I believe Crowder is being allowed to walk. Bill is willing to trade up for a guy right now and bet your pinky it is a LB. Bill LOVES drafted LB isn the first roung. Remember last year's drafts we picked in pairs too expect the trend to continue this year with the top tager being a LB and another one by the 3rd round. Look for us to fill our center need in FA which gives us the depth we need at guard with Samson Statle moving over. The scondary has to be targeted also even if we sign Bell which I expect it was a problem until Hill came on board (whom looks like we are not resigning) as well as Goodman who cam on in the 2nd half (who could also be lost in FA). I am most curious on how they handle the secondary situation as it really needs lots of attention if held up pretty well last year for a "MASH" unit. You cannot count on that forever. So are we going to address it in the draft or FA is the big question. NT is another area that will be interesting to watch do we pick up a tank Johnson for insurance or go with 1 2nd rounder at that postion in the draft. Remember Parcells & Co like to build from the inside out and through the draft so I way 1st round LB, 2nd NT, 2nd secondary, 3rd LB and back to secondary in the 4th. The rest of the picks will be SP teamer with maybe a FB and TE thrown in along with a WR.
