What the heck is this guys problem running reverses on second and short. Our passing game sucks and he's putting us in third and longs running these bad plays on second down. I am still sick over the fact that we didn't run the ball on 3RD AND 2. We had been running on them all day long. Idiot decides to call a pass play. Linehan should die of ghonnorrea!! I am sick of his bad playcalling. We need to go downfield at least 4 times against New England this week. I live in RI so winning this game is like Christmas to me. I hate the fans around here. They're all friggin homers. But LInehan sucks and is the reason for my hatred these past few weeks.
 
Really that is a great time to try a reverse. D is looking for a run up the middle and may get caught off guard. Didn't work last week, oh well. Now passing on 3rd and 2 with R & R in the backfield in 4 down territory was dumb!

One word....EXECUTION....

That is what is wrong with our team right now...starting with the QB position.
 
We've had several reverses work for big yardage this year. On the pick that ended the Atlanta game Gus didn't see the guy sneak up therefore he threw into coverage. The call was to surprise the defense and get an easy touchdown. Gus should have either thrown it away or went elsewhere with the ball. Take it easy on Linehan, do you want Foester back? Get him a Q.B. and it's a different world.

You should be ban from watching football plus you want Linehan to die...:shakeno: That's pretty childish.
 
Well Linehan's offense has had plenty of chances to convert on deep throws, but for one reason or another the ball is not getting there. Mainly its Gus underthrowing or overthrowing, but theres been a few times where it looks like the wr may have jumped early, or even a couple drops.

I hate the excuse commonly said that it was a good play call we just did not execute the play, please, sometimes you have to play some chess and out smart the oppopsing coaches. Keon Carpenter said that they new what was coming on 3rd and 2 , that better not happen this Sunday, stay with your strengths and RUN !

I agree, and of course if it works we would have far less second guessers. Catching the defense by suprise had it worked would have resulted in a huge yardage gain, we just executed poorly. However Linehan's decision to get away from the run after it had worked so well, with our shaky QB was just awful. He certainly has not been able to open up the vertical passing game like we had hoped, and it appears he's not half the offensive mind many considered him coming into the season.

Maybe it's lack of faith in our QB and the WR doesn't know where or when Gus will throw the ball. Gus certainly doesn't inspire confidence....Not to take the heat entirely off the receivers, they have to know to come back for the ball once in awhile and run the correct route, and try to free themselves from the CB. Isn't that what they're getting paid for?
 
Well Wanny ball had everyone wanting us to try the deep ball to get those safties outta the box, now we have an OC that will do exactly that and people want Wanny ball. The plays are there its execution. The reverse where McIntosh whiffed on his block was set up for a gain otherwise just for an example. I like what Linehans doin with the offense, and Houck has been great with the OL being tied for 4th in the league in sacks given up. I find it amazing that stat with last year the qbs never had time to throw, and i still have nightmares of the Bengals game last year where we made their defense look like a probowl defense. Id say it would be easy for Linehan to just run the ball more, but hes tryin to implement a system, and to think that system is just being implemented for this season is rather short sighted. He needs to get the players that will be here for years to believe in the system, and be comfortable in it so they can add even more to it next year. I'm sure players know that Gus will not be the starter here next year, and realize an upgrade will be coming in one form or another. Thats my opinion anyway.
