I have thought about this for a good amount of time. I don't believe Linehan will be very successful in St. Louis for 3 reasons:
1. He is inheriting a poorly managed pool of players. Linehan is known for aggressive coaching, but not for "realligning" players.
2. St. Louis was ranked 30th in the NFL in total defense this season. They will have the "Miami of 85-95 syndrome" that produced 51-48 losses to the Jets, etc. They will put up points (maybe with the aging WRs), and get shelled on the D side of the ball.
3. Linehan's "system" is very dependent upon a defense that can keep the opposing team's offense OFF the field, so his offense can stay on the field. Does St. Louis have even enough of a D to allow less than 21-24 points a game?
4. I just wanted to put a '4th' reason on here, because St. Louis will be seeing alot of 4th and 10 next year.
