I remember how good Mays was at USC about five years ago. Big hitter and very fast......Maybe he could be picked up by the Phins?

He's been picked up and dropped by numerous teams who thought the same thing. The guy seems to have all the potential in the world coming out of USC, but has flopped in the nfl with every team that has tried to make it work. I don't want to waste the time with him if we can find someone else with a better head on his shoulders.

Pat White was awesome in college!

Seriously, people tend to get cut at this point for good reason.

White was a midget. :chuckle:

"Mays signed with the Lions in June shortly after he was released by the Vikings, who signed him earlier in the offseason. Burning through two teams in such a short period doesn’t bode well for Mays’s long-term future in the league but teams like the Dolphins and Giants have suffered injuries at safety that might lead them to see if Mays can provide them with some depth."

Dunno. He's been in the NFL for 5 seasons, and hasn't had a single interception yet.

I'd much rather give our current guys the next two preseason games to show that they belong back there. otherwise yeah, scour some depth charts.

Look in house, but he was a Kevin Coyle guy once right? They must have crossed paths, no?

No need to be hasty. Let our guys play another 2 weeks and then pick the waiver wire after the 3rd preseason game.

Some will disagree, but I think he was one of the worst draft picks ever by the Dolphins! How many times do we have to see a spread offense QB in college put up gawdy #s before we realize that the #s are inflated. You really have to delve deep into the player to get the right perspective.

Back when PW was drafted, I called him the worst draft pick ever and he should have been cut in training camp. I got sent to the depths by the majority pile on. It took 2 years to get my rep back.
Since then, it was hard to imagine doing worse, but it did happen.
Dion Jordan was the worst pick, bar none, considering what we gave up for him, his full blown *reettard, and his drug suspensions.
PW is number 2 all time IMHO.
