I agree with you on that it is a good move in terms of continuity. But, in terms of what he offers I do not think it is the way forward for them. I honestly think Culpepper has very little to offer a team except experience. He has only had 2/3 good years, the rest of his career has been injury and fumble ridden.
However, he might be the man to pass on his knowledge to whomever ends up as his back-up (draftee or whomever).
My prediction for 2009:
He starts 10 games, 15TDs 15INTS, double digit fumbles, Lions finish 5-11
