Lions keep Culpepper

I wouldnt be surprised if Daunte put up good numbers this year..with CJ at the WR position.....Id say Daunte will throw 24 TDs this year...I hope he does...He'd revive his career

Not a bad move for a team going nowhere.....

Culpepper can still sling it if he's healthy. I don't like the prospects of him making the plays needed to win games/championships, but he wont have to worry about that in Detroit :)

maybe now they go 11-5 and win the division...LOL

At least we won't have any ridiculous... Bring Culpepper back, threads

I guess that still proves Culpepper belongs in the NFl not that it means anything. I think it was a smart move, at least see what the guy has and nothing has been promised about starting. So many panned Culpepper on this site but Im sure he would have done no worse than Trent Green or anybody else in our awful 2007 season. I almost feel bad for the guy He went from the Dolphins to the Raiders to the Lions ouch.

You are still talking about DC belonging in the NFL.

He has been washed up since 2005 anyways.

Culpepper is a bottom of the barrell QB on the worst team in the NFL.

I don't feel bad for the guy at all. I still can't stand him actually.

Agreed

Good continuity move for them.

I agree with you on that it is a good move in terms of continuity. But, in terms of what he offers I do not think it is the way forward for them. I honestly think Culpepper has very little to offer a team except experience. He has only had 2/3 good years, the rest of his career has been injury and fumble ridden.

However, he might be the man to pass on his knowledge to whomever ends up as his back-up (draftee or whomever).

My prediction for 2009:

He starts 10 games, 15TDs 15INTS, double digit fumbles, Lions finish 5-11

Prove me wrong Daunte lol.

What knowledge? The guy is a complete moron.

This reminds me, I recently broke out the biggest mistake of my life (AKA the #8 Culpepper jersey) for the first time since 2006 and I actually ran into another Dol-fan. I was obviously embarrassed for being seen in public by one of my peers in such risque clothing.
