That ride might get tougher Sunday. The Lions failed to convince him this week to readjust his contract for a trade with the Chiefs or the Browns, so on Sunday morning, they plan to get tough. They are considering trading him to the Browns for a fourth- or fifth-round choice, and if he refuses to go, they are threatening to challenge his agreement with the Dolphins.

Not that I know everything about NFL contracts and deals, but the Lions agreed to let Harrington explore his options, so why could they challenge the deal with Miami if they gave him permission to look?

Hope there's nothing but hype on Millen's part to try and take our 4th rounder today. Keep your poker face on Nick.:cooldude:

he is the front office, and last i checked, the front office usually wins i these disputes.

i don't know if it is old news or anything, but the lions can trade him to anyone they want and that team would assume his contract including about a 5 mil bonus due in a month. he was willing to restructure his contract to play for miami but he can take the entire salary if he isn't happy with the team that he gets traded to.

I think he's trying to scare Saban into giving our 4th today for Harrington. We just need to keep our poker face on.:cooldude:

Take Jacobs and then sit and wait on Joey to be cut. By then we can evaluate Cleo and Omar and see if Joey is more valuable then one of the others. Either way it's good insurance and covers our butts.

Harrington can simply refuse to rework his deal no matter who he ends up with, that in and of it self probably forces his release.

I doubt any team will accept him with his current contract.

i think so too. the browns would be foolish to give up a 4th on him considering they already have frye and holcomb.

The Lions want a better pick than the 6th round in next years draft. The Browns are offering a 4th or 5th in this years draft, which is alot better than what we are offering. Now Harrington is refusing to rework his deal for anybody but us. So, from what I read in that article is that the Browns are thinking of making the trade anyway, in the hopes of Harrington having a change of heart and reworking his deal. If he declines, the Browns will trade him back to the Lions. So I guess Harrington will be the one to decide his own fate. If he wants to be with us he will refuse to rework his deal, and if he feels the Browns are his only option because the Lions won't accept the Fins pick next year, he is a Brown. I hope he refuses to rework his deal and the Fins are able to work out a deal without giving up too much.
