Lions Release Brock

KR/PR was one of our few bright spots last year with Welker emerging as one of the best returners in the game!

He may be an upgrade though.

I don't think he returns kickoffs. I'd rather have Welker returning the punts than Hakim. I do want to sign him though.

Guys, Welker isn't that great. He's a nice young player, but not the return specialist that some of yall like to think. I like him because he isn't the best athlete but he tries his best and does more than he should considering his skills.

I wouldn't call him one of the best returners in the game. Let's not get crazy

I say let brock go people. He was released for numbers of reasons. FOR ONE...TOO SLOW. One main thing they was that he had lost a step. I love the guy and will always appriciate what he did for us but we dont need him now.

He was a rookie last season. He's going to get better. He's no Dante Hall but he is a good KR.

Also, My friend is an fan of the lions... He says Hakim sucks... He drops alot of balls

He's decent, but some people on here try to act like he's great. Some even saying this year he was one of the best KR/PR in the league.

look at their QB's. The balls are thrown at his toes.

Welker is solid...before him when was the last time we had a return for a TD? He ALMOST had that punt against the Pats returned for a TD also. Hes a scrappy type runner that fights and doesnt dance....just runs straight north and south. The thing i love most about him is his ball security. You can tell that he takes pride in that.

Travis Daniels was a safety 2 years ago at LSU before moving over to CB, I would'nt be surprised if he went back to safety.

Yeah, I agree though. Joey Harrington did make some bad passes, but not every pass was bad. There were some great passes Hakim should've caught, but dropped. I can't give games that they happened in, because I can't remember. He did make a few catches, but not as many as he should've.
As for Hakim being a KR/PR. I'm almost 100% positive that Wes Welker is at this point a better KR/PR. He might make a good back-up if you don't already have one. Although I'm sure he'd want too much.

I mean, I like Marion too but there is a reason he was taken in the 7th round. He was there to fill a spot and the spot was filled. Over time he lost a couple steps and his defense is still there just not as fast as when he was drafted. Oh and getting Hakim....yeah, bad idea. Do any of you remember how many punts he has dropped over the past 2 years and totally shifted momentum back to the other team. Hakim can only use his skills if he actually catches the ball, he's too worried about being hit that's why he fumbles a lot.

BUT, I would run to get Az-Hakim. Solves our PR and KR issues plus COULD be our #4 WR.

Issue? Welker scored our first TD on a kick return in hella years, and came close on a few more occasions... He averaged pretty decent on punt returns and had some close plays as well... I don't think we have any "issues" so to speak...
