Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Detroit Lions have signed free-agent RB T.J. Duckett (Redskins) to a one-year contract worth between $1.5 million and $2 million.

another RB off the FA market...not huge news, but it's a slow day.

DUCKETT TO DETROIT
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that running back T.J. Duckett has agreed to terms with the Detroit Lions.
Duckett will sign a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Lions.
The maneuver gives the Lions three starting-caliber tailbacks -- Duckett, Tatum Bell, and Kevin Jones. We've previously heard that Bell, who was acquired recently from the Broncos as part of the Dre' Bly trade, is a candidate to be traded again.
Duckett did the deal with Detroit after visiting the Seahawks.

Green Bay is in desperate need of a RB, no way Morency will cut it as a full-time starter IMO...Maybe Bell is an option to be traded there, the only other option they have is to go after Lynch in the draft but that may involve moving up to get him.

man, how manyRBs are they gonna need. I know Jones is out for a while, but thats alot of money

 Good old Matt Millen. Never short on over-addressing one position and completely neglecting others.

Yeah seriously, granted a few are injured, but as of this moment they have 6: K.Jones, Calhoun, T.Bell, Duckett, Bryson, Cason.

:sidelol: and to think, he still has a job there.

Well, Millen may not be done yet, looks like they may be going after Chris Brown as well...just saw this quoted on another sports forum:

Detroit Free Press-

With their backfield still healing and the possibility of movement before the draft, the acquisition of Duckett might not preclude the Lions from still pursuing Brown. He was scheduled to leave Detroit on Friday and likely would visit Green Bay soon, according to his agent, Wynn Silberman.

(Browns Agent said)

"He had a great visit and we're looking forward to seeing what happens, but he really enjoyed his time there," Silberman said. "He had some good conversations with the front office and got along real with the head coach and we'll see what happens."

:rolleyes2
