Everyone is talking about how this is just one game and how Miami turned it around and went 11-5 last year. Last year, Miami wasn't really that good. They beat teams by the slimmest of margins with the two exceptions being the first NE game when we surprised them with the wildcat and the final game against the Jets when Farve was playing injured. The rest of Miami's victories were very eeked out affairs against teams of equal or slightly worse talent. Miami simply did not out and out dominate. Now that the schedule is tougher, Miami won't be able to bamboozle a win using trick plays and such. I for one was not impressed at all with Miami's preseason victories. They resembled the same victories that Miami won last year, never a truly dominating performance. I hope Miami wins at least 8 games this season, but I really can't see that happpening with the dink and dunk offense that they are presently using.

we have a strong run D and i wont call our pass D a liability just yet, but the offense flat out blows.

Of course this is the reaction after todays loss. It could be no other way here. But it never ceases to amaze me how OVER reactionary the fan base is. We lost a game today where we were flat and basically stunk.

So that makes last years team not that good? I'm sorry...I dont care what your schedule is.... going 11-5 and winning a division isn't pure luck. Sure you have to be a little lucky, but you have to be good in some areas too. And you have to execute...even against the bad teams.

We eeked out those close ones last year, because of the low turnover ratio. Take away the turnovers yesterday, and it would have been a very close game.

maybe during the season, the mods want to authorize posts here...some posts are just plain dumb.
i cannot believe that after one week of football the dolphin "fans" are over this team. and last year was a complete fluke. unreal

People in general are pretty stupid.

Sadly I'm with you on this one. Last year was the same ol conservative play with some exceptions that barely won games. Alot of people are saying "don't say sit Penny" but I am anyway. He need a gun slinger and he just doesn't do that.

I don't think everyone is panicking after week 1. I think the true fans, the guys who know football, realize after watching 18 games now under this regime that we have huge problems on the offensive side of the ball. Fundamental belief system problems.

The core issue is a COMPLETE LACK OF IDENTITY on offense. Yesterday this was very apparent as each series seemed to have it's own gameplan. Who are we as an offense? What is our core belief and mission as an offense? This needs to be asked in the meeting rooms. But geezus, this needed to be asked in the offseason meetings and planning periods.

This team tries to play some smashmouth, then gets cute, then tries somethinge else, then another. Split backs and 3 wide and some good runs, then White in to derail everything, then Pennington back in with 2 tight ends. It's ludicrous really. Henning is shooting fish in a barrell.

I for one am fed up with it. This goes back to last year as well. It was even more obvious yesterday in the Falcons game. Until this team decides who it wants to be as an offense, we will be a jack of all sets, and master of none.

Great post and I completely agree. The sky is not falling, but there are some issues and I feel the lack of what this team is can not be underestimated. If we want to be a cute finesse team, then we have the wrong personnel for that. If we want to be a smash mouth football team then use these big guys to do that. At this point I am not sure what Miami is on offense.

so based on that logic alone we are going 11-5 again? or maybe 13-3 this year...

i completly disagree with this...the point of using other formations is to not have 8 in the box we SHOULD have used some more play pass but useless when we are just gonna dump it 3 yards...the White throw was great and i enjoyed even overthrowing the ball...everytime White was in they shifted the front 7 it was funny to watch and it will continue to happen..its not cute its aknowlaging what your weapons are...and yes it didnt come together today but i will
