Does anyone else get the feeling that this guy is going to turn the NFL on its ear before he's done? I hear this guy talk, and I think we may have the smartest football coach in the NFL. You never hear him stutter for words. He is always prepared to answer a question, and it's obvious that he knows what he is talking about when it comes to football. He can identify exact things that they need to work on and verbalize those things to the media and fans in a way that they can understand them. This is in quite contrast to Dave Wannstedt, who could never seem to identify what it was that the team needed to work on.

Nick is also stressing the little things, which I feel is a stark contrast to Dave as well. Travis Daniels stated in his interview that one of the rookies asked him what he needed to do to keep Nick from yelling at him. Daniels told him to just finish the plays. Even if you fall down or make a mistake, get up and finish the play. Nick will curr you more for quitting than he will for making a mistake.

Even though it seems that there will only be a few mini camps, I have a feeling they will make some of the best camp reports in years.

To be able to actually see teaching going on, instead of having to look real hard to find the teachers.

When Wanny was coach, there was always one person teaching, and that was Jim Bates.

I really wish Jim Bates had looked seriously into some college openings. At his age, his chances of landing a pro head coaching job appear to be slim. I really feel that he could have gone to the college level and done a great job.

What I get the feeling is that we have ourselves a GOOD coach. We haven't had that in a while, not since Wannstedt took over. Good old Shula lost his luster and so did JJ by the time he got down to Miami. Wannstedt never had it. What we've got is a guy right in his prime, ready to win a bunch of football games. I don't doubt that other teams have that as well. The game MAY be passing Parcells by a little, Belichick is most definitely still in his prime with everything working the right way, Andy Reid still strikes me as being a fantastic football coach decision maker, and Marvin Lewis also gives me a VERY good impression as to where he has his football team going and what kinds of decisions he is making.

I think it is a lot like when we were starved for a quality WR and so Chris Chambers was the next Randy Moss to us (he's still very talented, but he's no Moss), or when we were starved for a RB for so long that Lamar Smith looked like a god in a football uniform. We've been starved for a good head coach, and now we have one. Whether he deserves being called the smartest football coach in the league, or the best, we really really have to wait on that one. He has his weaknesses.

On the contrary KB, he did say many, many times over and over at the post game conferences after a loss, that "we have to look at the game film"... :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I know that this was meant to be funny, and lord knows I want to laugh, but
it still pains me to think back at Wanny's post game conferences.
The horror, the horror.
