... after Manny Fernandez got in the Dolphins Ring of Honor this past weekend (which I thought was a great ceremony), who would you like to see join the ROH next year if we induct someone next year?

Me personally, I would like to see another "defensive duel" induction next year ... and see Sam Madison & Patrick Surtain go in together, who were arguably the two best CBs this franchise has ever had. But thats my opinion.

What say you? Who would you guys like to see get in?

Eh, while they were very good, I just don't think they deserve it, and I like both of them a whole lot. But to me, I save these kinds of things Ring of Honor, Hall of Fame, retired numbers etc to LEGENDARY PLAYERS. I think the baseball hall is becoming a joke, guys who compiled stats getting in makes me sick. If I have to debate it then he doesn't deserve to get in which is what I follow. And these retired numbers in baseball is the biggest joke of all, especially with the Yankees. They're gonna have to go triple digits soon.

Sam and Pat were great Dolphins but not legendary in my opinion. If we have to forego a few years so be it. I wasn't old enough to watch Manny play, I started with the Fins in 79, I ask you guys who saw him, was he legendary? I just think we are to quick to rush some of our heroes into legend status when they are not.
I think my tiers are Legends, Greats, Very Good and Good. And I think when you retire numbers, put in the Hall or the Ring they need to be considered Legends. Would love to hear what some of you guys think because I have this argument with a friend of mine all the time.

I am happy that Manny was inducted and the old timers were treated to a thrilling win.
I would like to see Ricky Williams get in

Not sure if he is deserving of the Ring of Honor, very debatable. But I would like to see Bryan Cox get in. He played with passion, aggressiveness, determination, an all out Linebacker who gave our defenses back then some much needed nastiness.

On a side note, he had the balls to give the Bills fans the middle finger, a guy who hated the Bills as much as we did!

No one else deserves to go in. We are waiting on the next great Fins.

And I'll expand on that thought. I'm a huge Mets fans and I love David Wright. He's not a great player like most Met fans say, but he's very good.
Legendary is Marino, Lawrence Taylor, Montana, Dick Butkus Ruth, Mantle, Ted Williams and recently Derek Jeter.

I, like the vast majority of Dolphans, really enjoyed watching Pat and Sam play. However, they really aren't ring of honor worthy. I don't say this to take a negative jab against them. They were, combined, perhaps our best CB duo ever. But side by side with Dolphin LEGENDS, they pale in comparison. Langer72 mentioned Ricky Williams. He is one my favorite Dolphins. Unfortunately, other circumstances (we all know what) have made a player who doesn't really deserve to be in our ROH. Nothing personal. I empathized with his anxiety issues. But he did leave the team unexpectedly. That alone takes him out of the conversation immediately.

Perfectly said.

My three favorite Mets of all time......Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman and Rusty Staub.

I have to agree with this......and I really didn't want to.

Loved all three of them. But Seaver IS a legend. Mind blowing great! Best pitcher I've ever witnessed, and used to pitch 9 innings all the time

One player who I would have considered IF and only if he spent more time with us at a high level would be Cameron Wake. He just got to us too late because of his age and he's already on the decline. But can you imagine if we had him for 10 years at the top of his game??? He could have been a Dolphin legend.

I cannot think of any that are not already in.

I agree. I think he will or I should say should be in... eventually

I've been a dolphin fan since 1970 so i did see manny play and he was a great player watch the undefeated super bowl game I'm almost sure that Manny had like 14 tackles that game and there was talk that he should of been MVP of that game but they didn't give mvp to linesmen in those days. He was really good but i will say this also the combine team in that season was really really good which helped Manny become a great Dolphin. I hope you get my drift...

wake will go in

if he had a healthy career jake long would have gone in as well

bar that, I see little hope for our current more experienced players

Yeah I'm not so sure about that one. I love him but like I said, to me, just not enough years. But let's see, maybe if he gives us an another 3 or 4 years at a high level then I can see it.
