Until pads come on, no one stands out.. But the fact that Sean Smith was the opposite of Will Allen stood out...

I hated the pick from day one and of course was blasted.
I personally would prefer to be hearing I told you so's and him playing like a stud.

4 years in the NFL and he is a now a gunner, great investment lol.
His bags are already packed. Im sure we dont want to pay millions for a gunner.

Jason Allen, Daunte Culpepper and Derek Hagan with our 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks respectively...............................that was a rough draft.

Nate Gardner was pulling double-duty as both the right and left tackle. But rookie Andrew Gardner was playing ahead of him.

Ok, now THIS really is some news!!

I was under the impression he was not going to be able to play this year.

I am VERY glad I was wrong.

This...couldnt we have moved up a few spots and taken cutler? Thanks Saban...You truly are a genius...

- interesting what they're doing with Wilford & wondering why he's apparently causing such problems with the defense.
- glad that Smith instead of Davis is working with Allen. keep Davis' ego in check & push him.

1.31 million....if he's the best for the job, that salary won't be the deciding factor.

was he was a gunner last year too?

I hate to defend the Dark One but I do remember that taking Jason Allen was sort of a product of missing out on desperate attempts to trade up and get Haloti Ngata, or even Broderick Bunkley or Kamerion Wimbley...and then not being able to trade down. Saban really didn't want to just sit there and make that pick. You could tell that even though his staff had Allen rated right along with a bunch of other players that had already gone, Saban himself didn't really think Allen belonged in league with some of those players. He wanted Haloti Ngata in the worst possible way, but absent getting him or Bunkley or Wimbley, I think he wanted to trade down and acquire picks, maybe pick up a guy like Lawson.

Popular message board alternatives included Manny Lawson, Bobby Carpenter, Chad Greenway and Antonio Cromartie. Only Carpenter would have potentially been worse. Interestingly enough that was Parcells' pick and the Cowboys were rumored to like Jason Allen that year too.

I don't know about all that stuff CK...but I do know that IF the Cowboys did select J. Allen...he probably be an all star player....now isn't that the way it usually works out.
