Liwienski not good enough to start???

He was highly regarded when he was starting as a Guard and Tackle for Minnesota. They led the NFL in rushing and he was known as a mauler who could clear space in the running game. He got hurt and the Vikings decided to replace him with Steve Hutchinson. I don;t know if he was hurt last year but if he can get back to his pre-injured ability he could be an upgrade forthe running game.

he comites a lot of penaltys , he is terrible against the pass , he will cost us a lot of sacks . remember when we got this guy ??if he was any good someone would had gotten him before us , he is just a backup

Honestly if they plan to start the season with Chris I'm seriously going to miss Jeno James cause Chris is a downgrade.

Really hoping Mormino comes on strong and wins that center job and have Satele go to LG.

I think we should wait to see how Liewenski plays in TC and the preseason before we start asking for Jeno back. Jeno was awful. He had a decent run at the end of the 2005 season, but I thought he was overpaid from the get-go. Some people have stated Liewenski was a Pro-Bowler? I don't know if that is true, but that is something to hope for. I agree with the one poster that said I just want him to be better than what we've had here before.

Mormino was practicing at the last OTA at LG with the second team, I wouldnt be to surprse if he challenges Liweinski and wins the job....

The Dolphins project former Vikings starter Chris Liwienski as a starting guard, although one Cardinals insider said he demonstrated last year he's backup material and subpar in pass protection.

found it on si.com on the truth and rumors section. what do you think?

It's certainly possible he's not much more than a back-up. Too many people on this board seem to grasp at straws and try to dress up the whore, so to speak. He really hasn't done much of anything for a few years, and having him at a starting position when the regular season rolls around would inspire me with little confidence.

Fluke and I believe he was an injury replacement. Most Minnesota fans think he was the weak link of their OL and the guy was a back up on a horrible Cardinals OL. Remember if this guy is so solid then why are the Phins keeping tabs on Pete Kendall.

This guy is obviously not a long term answer, but the good guards were too expensive. Hopefully he can be decent. Hopefully he won't be Bennie Anderson.

Remember, Mormino is a baller . . . I think I read some where that Joe Staley said Mormino was the "most talented OL" @ Central Michigan . . . that is saying alot from a guy who was just drafted in the first round.

I picture the people on the Cardinals saying, "Hey, out left guard situation is a question, but at least we got rid of Liweinski, he was horrible." In other words, just what we say about Jeno.

I still would not mind picking up Pete Kendall if he is released.
