If my screwed up mind isnt wrong then if the Bengals lose 2 of there next 3 and we win out with the pats losing one afc game we would get a first round bye... Or no????
 
IF we win out, anything is possible.

Likewise, if we still lose 1 game, we STILL can make the playoffs too.

It's all about what other teams do.

Which makes my head hurt trying to think about it. Let's just keep winning!
 
San Diego and Indy will still have the top 2 records.
 
Actually, if the Chargers lose out and the Bengals lose three out of their last 4 (they must beat the Chargers next week) New England loses 1 out of their final 3 and the Fins win out, we would have a 1st round bye .. lol anything is possible
 
Indy has clinched home field throughout the AFC playoffs.

Right now, unless San Diego loses out and Cincinnati loses out, Miami's chances of a first round bye are low.
 
Yes, technically Miami can get a first round bye. The chances are low.

It basically requires:
1) Miami wins out.
2) NE loses 1 out of 3
3) Bengals drop 2 out of 3
4) Chargers drop 3 out of 4
 
Nope, not happening.. Colts are locked in and San Diego will not lose out and have the tie breaker against us, and Cincy also has 9 wins.

But, if we can steal a Wildcard spot, that would be a major miracle given our 0-3 start this season.

See this kind of dangerous thinking is why Finheaven is unbarable at times. We have a slim, no very slim chance of making the playoffs due to our brutal December schedule. Plus with our abysmal secondary, us in the playoffs might be a 62-7 style embarassment. Play the games and see where the chips fall but getting your hopes us like this will make for all those horrid threads that plaugue this wonderful site after a loss.
 
Lighten up guys....... he's just asking if it is factually accurate that we could earn a bye. He's not making any statement as to our chances of doing so. And by what I see as the responses it appears he is accurate. The chance of our doing so are remote though.
