Lofa Tatupu Anyone???

Shefter reporting that "After Seahawks asked LB Lofa Tatupu to take a paycut, he asked them to release him. The team now plans to do so, albeit reluctantly."

If released, he may be worth signing at the right price to compete with Burnett as Channing's replacement.
 
He's coming off 2 knee surgeries and wants a big contract....I doubt we bring him in
 
That's money that needs to be allocted to the offense. Tatupu is going to be looking for more cash than we're willing to give. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he a bit small for one of our linebackers? Like Zach Thomas small?
 
He's a little small for the 3-4 and injury-prone. I could see Tampa bringing him in to replace Ruud.

Zach might have been small, but he played huge
 
After we just paid Burnett to come in, we are gonna hand big money over to this guy? I sure hope not

Not saying he didn't. But Zach would not have been an ideal 3-4 linebackers. Zach worked well here because we could hide him behind two mammoth DT's like Bowens and Gardener. I don't think he'd have been as good if he'd had to deal with guards on him all the time...
 
I like Lofa, but no thanks. We're set at ILB for a long time, and the money he wants can be better spent elsewhere.
 
He's on the downside of his career. I think AJ Edds will do great behind Burnett. No need for this guy.
 
Burnett is a 100 tackles, 6 sack starting MLB. Defense is ready..... let's spend money on the offense.
 
The ILBs will be Burnett, Dansby, Edds, and Dobbins. The Special Teamer from Cleveland can play ILB as well. Who are you going to replace? Dobbins? Not at only $1.7M you won't. This is a strong unit. No need to add anyone else.
 
Injury prone and he's undersize for the 3-4 and we are set at ILB.
