it cost miami a home game? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA get over yourself. Miami has a huge fan base in London. We are one of the most recognized franchises in the NFL internationally and it is a huge honor for us to be playing this game there. What do you think the NFLs plan was for expanding into international games? Wait for it. Wait for it. Wwwwait for it. Here i will play the fly on the wall in the comish's office. "Mr Commissioner, why are we sending the Dolphins and the Giants to London," his right hand man says. "Well son, it is because we hate them both and we in no way want to expand our global aim and just want to rid ourselves of these two teams for a game. If I had it my way, I would make all of their 16 games against each other and all in international territory like Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Etheopia, and the Siberia and maybe even in Outer space just so as we can keep anyone from seeing them, that is how embarrassed I am of these teams." Oh no wait, I had wax in my ears, let me play the tape recorder I had with me instead....STOP WHINING (this is not a direct personal attack on you, but to all those on this board I keep hearing that don't see this as what it is). The NFL is a business. It wants money. It did research. It found out who would be supported most internationally. It chose those teams and of those teams found out who would have the most support and gave it as thier home game. This wasnt a random draw names out of a hat experiance. Do you not think the NFL would love to overtake what we call soccer as the #1 sport in the world? (hint it is a business). Amazing how the tickets just a few days after the anouncement of the game are almost sold out and its not like we are playing on a grade school field. I guarantee you that this will not be a home game for us. Why? Sounds like an ignorant and obvious answer, but they will get more support from a london fan base that has never seen them play even if they dont play well than they ever would playing a home game here where they are booed for their performance (not saying it isnt deserved) Them playing in london almost represents more of a home game than playing here in miami because good or bad they will be cheered on. GO PHINS.

PS: I love your quote from walsh, honestly, and like I said this isnt an attack on you just frustration from the hundreds of posts I have read almost exactly like this one.

do any of you guys remember the orangebowl games when the fans
could actually stop the game because it was too loud? we were threaten with a penalty if the fans would not quiet down for the game to resume. i felt that we really had a 12 man. those were the days. Has anyone watched an nfl game recently when this event has occurred. i dont recall one single time in any game (all nfl teams) when this happened last year.

off topic: how do i have more phin dollars than post. what is this secret formula? and what can i buy?

The London game will be at 6pm local time, which will be 1pm EST (I think). It will be televised on Fox and on NFL Network.

I can understand Dophins fans being narked off about losing a home game, BUT the last couple of times I've watched a home game there have been a plethora of empty seats around the stadium. This game will be sold out.

The game has generated interest on UK based forums that I use that have nothing to do with football, and posters have been asking where to get tickets. I've been directing them to the appropriate site, on condition they pledge allegiance to the aqua and orange of course!

Actually, Miami was one of only 6 teams that agreed to give up a home game. It wasnt so much that the league felt Miami was the best team to represent the league, Miami was simply the best of what few teams were left to choose from.

Roger Godell said that all teams will play an international game within the next 15 years. It's not that Miami has the most fans in Europe, it's that the league opted to put Miami in the game arbitrarily. What has some Miami fans upset is the fact that for the Fins, this is a home game. The Giants are going to meet their quota for an International Game and they will be on the road (just like if the game was scheduled to take place in Miami.) The point is why? Why does the NFL want to expand into Europe? Why does the NFL decide in making the international game a regular season game instead of a pre-season game? The NFL's regular season is the most important regular season in the 4 major sports and without a doubt 1 team will always suffer.

You said something that was true, It is a business. I am going to get hammered for this, I think the NFL wants to see big markets succeed. The Giants get their international game on the road. Last year and last year they got an additional home game when the Saints had to play a "HOME" game in New Jersey. Something isn't right.

I remember Ron Jaworski begging the ref's to quite the fans down in the closed end of the endzone but got no help....threw a pick on the next play! The OB was great for fans because it was so close to the action....those days are long gone. =(

I think this is the best thing that has happened to the Dolphins in a long time. I for one love it.

The way I read it, the NFL plans to play 2 overseas games a year for the next 16 years. That's 32 games, with each franchise having one 'home' game and one away game.

The point is why? Why does the NFL want to expand into Europe?

Why does McDonalds have fast food restaurants all over the world? Why does Ford sale cars in Europe? Why do musicians attempt to sale their music to an overseas market? Why do Hollywood Studios sale their movies to cinemas across the world?

Why does the NFL decide in making the international game a regular season game instead of a pre-season game?

Because they've been there and done that (1986 - 1992 ish) and interest gradually waned when fans grew tired of watching second, third and fourth rate players who won't be on any NFL roster come the regular season. We're all grown up and mature as fans over here now. We watch and participate in the sport extensively and when we watch professionals play we want to watch the best of the best. No longer can we be dazzled by something because its new and exciting.

i would hope so, it is a "specialty" game and it better be in HD too.................

To answer the original question, we don't know yet. Since it will be aired at noon CST on FOX, I doubt that it would be. My gut would tell me that it will be the "national" game, but there will be others on fox and certainly on cbs, with the game being replayed nationally on NFL Network the following Tuesday. This being said, the NFL could move the eleven other afternoon games to the three o'clock CST time slot. We will just have to wait until April and the schedule is released.

I'd presume due to the unique nature of the game, that it will be televised both here and in a lot of other countries. I can't wait to see Wembley all lit up screaming for the Fins :D

I was wondering about this. I would think the NFL would want to make a big deal out of this, but if it starts along side the other games :confused:. That just doesn't make sense. I guess we'll see what the NFL has up its sleeves in April when the full schedule comes out!
