Hi, everybody! :dolphins: NFL has announced London, England will host an NFL regular season game in 2007. Date of the game has not been set, but I read that the Dolphins and the New York Giants will be the teams that will play the NFL game in London. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

This is such a bad idea for the NFL. They want to make more money but at the expense of a team's success. Do you know how hard it will be to get their body clocks 5 hours up like that and then right back within the length of 2 weeks? It's not fair and I guarentee you that JT's is furious. He doesn't even like playing Monday games, I can only imagine his thoughts at this.

Big dolphins advantage for this game

I think everyone's going to be amazed at the support the Dolphins will get at wembley. There will be a massive Dolphins advantage here - the Giants better be prepared for a very loud/hostile crowd.

The Dolphins might be a bit jetlagged - but it's the same for the Giants. So ??

And there'll be no empty seats - the UK has waited a long time for this, no-one will be leaving early....

I recommend any Dolphins fans not based in the UK to come to London for this - it will be some party....

To the thread starter, yes, it's confirmed......

Would this game be played in a domed stadium?

Thanks steve.... so no, it's not a domed stadium....hmm.....wouldn't it be very cold and rainy in the fall?

Nope def not a domed stadium as we dont have one in London. Not sure where it is going to be played as yet, either Wembley (90,000 capacity) or Twickenham (80,000 capcity). I can guarentee there will be no empty seats.

That's the autumn over here...

and not really. Autum is now sub tropical in climate thanks to global warming so pack swimming gear and sun screen.

Actually the weather's probably similar to NY, arriving a few days later.

Is anyone else concerned that the Dolphins will be giving up one of out home games for this London trip? I don't necessarily think playing the game is a bad idea, I just don't want to give up the competitive advantage of one of our home games.

What competitive advantage are you referring to? The fish are a .500 team at home for the last 4 years. Maybe you haven't heard but we have one of the most fickle lamest fan bases in the NFL. Sad to say.

Whoever plays in London will have a home game before the game in London and a bye week after. That much has already been decided.
