Since FH wasn't up when I returned, I'll post the day-by-day and pics.

Thursday/Friday

Thursday 8pm: leave MIA on Virgin Atlantic, arrive LHR around 9 a.m. Friday. I impressed my husband by knowing the subway, and we took the Tube to our hotel and saved over 50 pounds compared to a taxi.

We checked in here http://cumberlandhotel-london.co.uk/

This was the NFL's official site, so we got all of our tickets, passes, etc. at the hotel. Included were an excellent backpack with NFL Europe embroidered on it, a hat and football with the same. (We both got them.)

Threw our stuff in the room and went to Covent Garden and ate fish and chips here:

After that we just shopped around, went to a few pubs and returned to the hotel by 9 p.m.

Saturday

Up early and ate a huge English breakfast at the hotel (included! wasn't supposed to be)

We took the Tube to the British Museum and spent four hours there looking at mummies and artifacts. (No pics, sorry) One of the most intriguing museums I've ever visited.
We ate lunch at Ben Crouch's Tavern, and it was fully decorated for Halloween. The restrooms (toilet ;) ) were downstairs, and when the toilet flushes, all these ghost screams come out of a speaker. TMI???? Scared the **** outta me.

At five p.m. we left the hotel for a prearranged river cruise on the Silver Baracuda. Before the cruise, my husband went on this, the London Eye:

I have height issues. An NFL person took our group past the two-hour wait line, and they got right on.

The Cruise

I didn't get a pic of the boat, but it just cruised up the Thames. Open bar and appetizers. I didn't pay for this cruise or the "tour": an NFL rep gave me the tickets free when I was sitting in the lobby Saturday morning. :kick:

Met this guy on the cruise. Who is it?

great shots Hollie.. glad you remembered. I am so glad y'all had a good time despite our poor team.

hahaha and he was ever so careful with his hands in the second one...

Sunday

Up for that free breakfast again, and just walked around the Marble Arch area until we had to meet at the lobby at 12:45 p.m. to take a coach (bus) to Wembley. Again, an NFL rep gave me free tickets: this time to a "tailgate" party at one of the arenas beside Wembley. They had a band, games, cheerleaders, food, drinks, etc. Stew and I were interviewed by the Two Michelles. The video of us is on miamidolphins.com under videos, "London II," about halfway through. Pretty cheesy to be honest. Here's a pic of the tailgate:

our view of the game

At first I was disappointed with the tickets. I sit in the lower-level, row 2 at Dolphins Stadium. I ended up happy because we never got any rain; the roof was over us ;)

End of Sunday

After the game, we took the Tube to Covent Garden and ate at a Spanish tapas restaurant. When we got back to the hotel, all the Dolphin fans were in the hotel bar commiserating. Great night!!!

Monday

Our last day in London. We spent the day just walking around looking at old stuff  Actually, we went to the Museum of Natural History. It is worth going to for the architecture alone. Very cool gems exhibit. Pass on teh dinosaur one though: doesn't hold a candle to DC's Smithsonian.

Tuesday

We had a 9 a.m. flight home, so we took a cab to heathrow. No problems. We had a great time despite the loss. I'll post more randon pics in the pic thread when i have time to host them!

lol, I know! I had to give those girls credit: all these old farts bugging them for pics all night and they never lost their smiles.

We did have a great time. What were we then 0-6? I saw a boy on the street with his family sporting a Dolphins sweatshirt, he was probably 10 or 11. I said, "Go Fins!" I felt so bad, he was embarrassed, and stammered, "We're not very good this year." I had to explain that I was a Dolphins fan too and I was not making fun of him. :(
