Last playoff win: 2000, AFC wild card, 23-17 vs. Colts. Dave Wannstedt’s first year as Jimmy Johnson’s hand-picked successor. They made the playoffs the next year, but only one time since. Nick Saban did two years there, remember?

Chance of ending drought soon: Poor. Only a season-long intestinal virus would keep the Patriots from winning the AFC East. Beating out the Jets and Bills will be no picnic, either, never mind the other AFC contenders if they do make the cut

Thirteen years, will we ever get into the playoffs again, much less win one? The playoff game where Lamar Smith gained 209 yards seems like a lifetime ago. Man I hope we get back there soon.

Yeah, because we all know how the AFC is the true class of the NFL nowadays...Miami's chances are far from "poor". :bobdole:

I hope the Patriots have about a 10 year-long "intestinal virus". I have seen enough of them.

We beat the Pats last year, should've beaten them twice but the refs didn't helped, beat Playoff teams in San Diego, Colts, Pats, Steelers (Almost made the playoffs) and the Bengals ( I can't recall if they made the playoffs). We also played very well against the Panthers which were one of the better NFL teams. This was with bad OC coaching and bad 2nd half coaching by Philbin. I know our chances are a lot better if Lazor is an improvement over Sherman.

He fins might blow, but the afc sucks too. So...

Maybe that's the amount of years that Marino cursed the team. Just as valid as any other notion for not getting there since.

Things run in cycles. Some of us old farts remember when the Saints, Niners & Falcons sucked every year. If you compare our 13 year drought to some of these teams, we haven't had much to complain about.

Just look at Pittsburgh Steelers. They started playing football in 1933. Their first playoff appearance was in 1947, where they lost to the Eagles. Guess when the Steelers won their first playoff game? 1972, the same year we went Perfect......The Steelers first playoff win EVER was in the Immaculate Reception game where Franco Harris caught the deflection off the Raider's defender. They have won SIX Superbowl rings since then. You just have to keep the faith.

In which direction?? Personally I think saying our chances of winning a playoff game this year are "poor" is being kind. I would list it more as "nearly impossible". Let's do it this way, I think our chances of winning a playoff game this year as some where around 10%. To me someone saying our chances of winning a playoff game this year as "poor" would be some where around 25-30%, which to me seems too high. If you think Miami's chances are "far from poor" then I am going to assume you are thinking what, 50+% ?? Interested in making a vcash wager??

All of the AFC playoff teams that Miami played last year, we won. They did a lot of good things last year that were completely derailed by the final two games. It's not that far fetched.

we all have our crosses to bear. As a SPURS fan, I remember there were two years, about 10 years apart, where they didn't make the playoffs due to injuries. Then the following year we got #1 pick (David Robinson) and the other time #1 pick Tim Duncan.

See? we all have droughts we have to go through. :)

Lol or the Bucs who sucked since their inception until 1996!

but you didn't make the playoffs b/c you couldn't beat 1 of 2 bad/mediocre teams to end the season.

Can you guys make it? sure, you have a playoff caliber D and you would think you'd be better on O w/ year 3 of Ryan, new OC(though last time you fired an OC and he got all blame you didn't do much better) and improved OL but you have question marks.

Junc called the Jets a bad/mediocre team. Mark it down, take a photo, alert the media.

nyjunc thinks the New York Jets football organization is bad/mediocre. ;)

we were mediocre at best last year, you guys were much more talented and should have easily been a playoff team. Going into this year I think the talent is a lot closer but I think we still may be #4 in this division in terms of talent but I expect to be a legot playoff contender this year. we should have enough to make the playoffs.
