Just read an article by AC and the longest TD this season by Miami is 21yrds???? My lord this is sooooooo embarrassing. Holy sh*t we are horrific!!! All we need in the offseason is 3 or 4 new Olineman and dlineman. Also a few LBers and safety and we should be fine. I forgot a big WR. Please someone put me out of my misery!!!

Yes, That is the longest by the offense, pitiful. The defense has scored 3 that were longer.

True longest TD is 21 yards. Wallace dropped what would have been a 26 yard TD last week, week 1 against the Pats Sims dropped what would have been a 40 yard TD...those are two that should have happened that I can remember off the top of my head.

It is what it is. Plenty of blame to go around on this one. QB, WR, RBs, OL...play calling. Julian Edleman took a short crossing route 69 yards for a TD last night against San Diego...he broke a tackle...Jarius Wright took a quick hitch pass 87 yards for a TD in overtime to win the game for Minnesota. Unfortunately we don't have receivers that make people miss or break tackles...the one receiver that can break tackles, Jarvis Landry, is slower than molasses on a cold winter day. That's where we are. A team that lacks elite players on offense and defense.

You know what...Those big plays are what makes it exciting to watch. It has been a boring dink & dunk season when you think about it but I am guessing the staff figured it was the only way to win 7 games.

it's not just the passing.... we can't break a long run apparently....and it is kind of amazing how high is Miller's AVG, if you consider that he never had a long run, 30+ yds.... I think the longest play of our season is a RT run... and there you go with the joke about him passing, runnning, receiving, blocking and play defense... at least the first 3 he did it! LOL

We do have a 50 yard pass. Miller can't break a long run because despite his speed he's not elusive enough in the open field and he still struggles to break tackles.

boring coach, boring qb, boring team

thanks, I totally forgot about the 50 yard pass play, shame on me

anyway, like you said... we don't have many playmakers...

70% completion....when its all Dinks and dunks......

A lot of people are content with this ****.

edit, no need to be confrontatIONAL, PEACE AND ENJOy, lol

The lack of big plays is because Philbin's offensive philosophy relies almost completely on the short pass. Big plays are supposed to come from yards after the catch, as another poster stated above. However, this won't happen unless you have the receiving talent to do it (and Miami doesn't). I hate defending Tannehill, but a lot of his problems with throwing the deep ball are probably due to a lack of time. This is also caused by Philbin's philosophy. Philbin's heavy emphasis on the short pass means that he doesn't need his o-line to sustain blocks for very long because the ball should be out of the QB's hand almost immediately, so he sees no need for big strong dominating linemen. I never understood why people like this type of offense; it makes no sense to me.

Want to see big pass plays? Put plenty of beef on the line to give the QB a little more time (although this will never happen under Philbin), and it would probably be a good idea to replace Wallace.

Doesn't help that the majority of tannehill's passes aren't getting to his receivers in stride which is absolutely horrible for Yac.

I don't want to hear about Tannehill's completion percentage, being 8/9 for 64 yards through a half of football isn't impressive. Lazor is making Tannehill look way better than he really is and it' SO evident that Lazor isn't a huge Tannehill fan. Every single QB in the league would have inflated stats if they were playing in Lazor's QB friendly Offense.

i can't stand the fact that people are always arguing " Tannehill didn't lose this game so and so did"

When the hell was the last time one of us said " Tannehill won us that game" .... that doesn't happen enough and it should if you're making someone your franchise QB for the foreseeable future

Stopped reading after the first sentence. What is Lazor's function? Figurehead?
Lazor calls and dials the plays.

See, now you're just looking for excuses to defend the WR corp. Tannehill has hit plenty of receivers in stride this year on crossing patterns...plenty and not once have they broken a tackle and taken it the distance. Heck with all the short passing he's been doing you would think the percentage of taking one of those passes the distance should have increased...even if it was by accident and yet not once has it happened. IIRC it may have only happened once or twice last year and it was Charles Clay who did it when he slipped a tackle against the Steelers and I recall him running over a defender against the Colts. Not one WR has done it. Can you remember the last time a WR took a short pass the distance...you can go back as far as you like...Shula era up to now. I can't remember the last time it happened.

Can you elaborate how exactly Lazor's offense is QB friendly?
