he finally looked comfortable last week after taking a couple shots, and i have a feeling we will see a couple of deep throws tonight, along with great blocking, and a solid outing from our defense. 2-3 turnover game for our defense. 200 passing yards, 2 tds for daunte

That would be awesome, but temper it with the reality that we are going against one of the best defensive fronts in the NFL. I would just love to see some consistency from our secondary. I am not worried about the Carolina running game and think Daunte will play solid. The main thing is to come away without any major injuries.

In terms of prediction?

Tonight the D could have a tough time with Deshaun Foster's speed. They should be ok otherwise.

On offense we will have to install protections to contain that DL. I have this eery feeling that Carey will be ok against Julius Peppers but that Shelton will get abused by Mike Rucker...and when they flip-flop then Peppers will abuse Shelton and Rucker will get a little bit of Carey. Jeno will have his hands full with Kris Jenkins like he did last week against Booger but he'll also perform decently like he did last week against Booger. Bennie will have a much better game against Ma'ake Kemoeatu than against Tampa's stunting DL.

I think Daunte will have a good day throwing to the deep portions and the deep middle, but he'll also throw the first pick of any Miami QB this preseason.

On D, like I said, we'll have some trouble with the speed of DeShaun Foster but otherwise be ok.

When the two first stringers come off the field I predict it'll look a bit like a draw...with possibly the Panthers a bit of an upper hand (if, as I suspect, DeShaun breaks off a long TD run).

How long will the starters be in tonight ? Isn't the 3rd preseason game usually the one where the starters get about 3 quarters ? I think they usually only get about one series in the 4th game.

Starters will play one series into the 3rd quarter. Only so they can get in the mode of making halftime adjustments, per Saban.

I'll be happy if our OL shows some improvement, and our secondary can contain Keyshawn.

I think it wouldn't be out of sorts to even see the offensive starters in for 2 series of the 3rd quarter, if they go 3-and-out on the first drive or something.

I don't ... it's a meaningless preseason game. Fun to watch, but what if (shudders) the "I" bug strikes? I think that a half would be sufficient. Get the players warmed up for the season, and then sit 'em down. No sense in taking too much of an unnesessary risk.

It will be interesting to see how he does tonight. If he endures the Panthers D and does well it's a huge mental win in the right direction. There is no doubt he's thinking about that cheap shot from last time they met.

Although I agree we dont want any "I's", we need to get as ready to go as possible since this really is the last game of the pre-season ie. the next game is basically just a backup fest.

The last game of the pre-season is always the 'last gasp' for anyone trying to make the team so the starters don't play anything really.

I'd be happy seeing them play a few series in the third, or just one series if we can score, and then see you opening night.

one does have to wonder that the Oline will be more prepared this week. This game is more towards the real deal than any other in preseason so....

Personally, I'm a little worried about injury. If our O-line makes the mistakes it did against TB, Daunte and Ronnie Brown are at risk. This D-line is too good to give free shots to.

Last week was a bigger risk than this week. The Panthers DL is a lot more like the Jags DL...built for power and matchups. The Bucs DL is a lot like ours except smaller and quicker...all stunts and rotations, confusing and outrunning, etc. Our overstuffed OL was set to have a much tougher time against the Bucs than against the Jags and Panthers.

Jeno James can be trusted against Kris Jenkins. When it comes to Carey and Shelton vs. Rucker and Peppers, well...that's why you install protections and quarterback movement. :)

  Yep Rucker and Pep will be a great test for our T's to let them know exactly where they're at..I really want to see Carey and Peppers..

I want the kinks out before the first game of the season not in the fourth quarter of that game. Play em now if someone gets hurt they get hurt it's football man not tiddlywinks.
