After watching tony sparano's press conference, i believe he will make big changes to the offensive line. he believes you win games in the trenches, o-line and d-line. he was asked about what he though about beck and he said he didnt have an opinion on him yet BUT the line had a big part in a QB's success and might be the reason for beck's misfortunes. granted that isnt exactly what he said, it's jusyt what i interpreted from what he was saying. but look for him to shake up the line.

O-LINE
i believe he will draft a high offensive lineman (OT) in the draft, maybe and hopefully with our first 2nd rounder. i would look at jeff otah OT pitt or barry richardson OT clemson. those two guy are beasts. then we would move vernon carey to RT which he would be very good at IMO. you would a satele at center unless we go after a FA center therefore he would move to guard. and i look to see him go after a guard in one of the later rounds.

D-LINE
As for the defensive line he most likely will use the #1 overall pick on one, wheether it is Glenn dorsey LSU DT, or Chris long DE Virginia (both of who i believe are great talent and great character and worthy of the #1 pick). i think that jason taylor will remain on our roster unless someone offers alot for him but i dont see that happening. I could also see him going after a few FA's like DT Corey Williams GB.

WR
I know that parcells and sparano like big time WR's and are gonna want to get one. parcells draft keshawn johnson with a top three pick when he was in new york and also brought in TO in dallas, so we know he likes big time WR's. so look for a WR to be picked up in free agency (bryant johnson, benard barrian) or via trade (roy williams or chad johnson-dont think he's on trade block anymore) or even a 2-4 round pick. look for big and tall guys like johnson and TO. look for Paul Hubbard-Wisconsin 6-4 215 4.34 (40) 3rd round, Jordy Nelson-Kansas State 6-3 217 4.54 (40) 3rd round, Marcus Monk-Arkansas 6-6 222 4.64 (40) 3-4 round along with some other names these are the type of WR i think they will goafter.

QB
Beck is our starter next year. if we dont resign cleo we are gonna have to bring someone in. pennington or losman (if they are released. do not trade for) are good backups. i dont see us drafting a high one. maybe 5-7 or undrafted for depth. josh mccown or rex grossman

CB
i look for them to go after a corner in either the draft OR (not both, unless its a late 6-7 round pick) i say i marcus truefant SEA isnt re-signed (likely to resign) or a late 2 round pick or a 3rd would be a possiblility. i look at dwight lowery SJST 2-3 round (most int's last year) or chevis Jackson LSU 3 round, terell thomas USC 1-2 round (if falls) or joe burnett central florida 2-3 round.

TE
i look to see anywhere from a 3-5 rounder TE taken. there are many names to trow out but there really isnt any FA's that i like. so looking into the draft we have: 2-3 rounder- martin rucker mizz, could fall cuz of his 40 time
3 rounder- dustin keller purdue
4 rounders-chris hopkins toledo, joe jon finley oklahoma
5 rounder-Brad Cottam Tennessee 6-8 270 4.68 (40) big mosterous fast and best blocking TE in draft

LB
sure we are gonna get a LB in this draft but im not sure when. but whenever it is look for it to be a big LB (a parcells kind of guy).
3 rnd- beau bell unlv, jon goff vandy
3-4- ben moffit s. florida

1 Glenn Dorsey DT
2 Barry Richardson OT or Jeff Otah OT
2 Vince Hall VT (ILB) or Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Tennessee St (CB)
Jack Ikegwuonu Wisconsin (CB) (this is a hard pick but i think its between LB or CB) dwight lowery SJST CB
3 Paul Hubbard WR
4 chris hopkins TE or Brad cottom TE (might be there in 5th so if we had a fifth i'd take him there)
if had a 5th and at 2b we take CB then we take LB jeremy leman illinois or spencer larsen arizona
6 will arnold LSU G (could fall cuz of injury, proj in 5th round) tad miller OG boise st: also WR hawaii davone bess or jason rivers are possiblilties a 6-7 round
7 one of the WR bess or rivers fall take them but if not take BPA

id love dorsey richardson and hubbard.
yes i got this all form the conference. lol no i have been thinking of this for awhile but his conference inluenced alot of my pics
whats your take...

i still have rulled out chris long from being the number 1 pick because i hear tuna is really high on him

Sparano won't be drafting anybody I don't imagine. That area will undboutedly be exclusively Ireland's and Parcell's.

I'm sure he'll have some input but he'll basically take what is given to him by the higher-ups.

Honestly Im hoping they do not mess with the OLINE that much. Our Oline was the bright spot of this team last year for a good part of the season. With a little more experience and maybe a tweak or two we should be looking at filling some depth though..

i bet he will have good say in it, because of how well all three of the get along. but if all the blame went on me if the draft was bad (hint cam cameron) then i'd want some say. im sure he wont have the final say but he will have good input and the decisions about the draft

whats your take...

Just my opinion ...but...Richardson is soft, pushes, commits to anchor early and does not have great balance. All the WR's listed are too early, Hubbard is a late 4 IMHO, Joe Burnett is returning to UCF, Ben Moffit lacks the Parcells character based on the way he has dissed his wife, Will Arnold has never lived up to his skills. Vince Hall is a little on the small side for Parcells, ...but, love Otah, Goff, Rucker (not a Parcells type IMHO...a Bennett is more his "type" TE) and Lowery where you have them......just my opinion though.......

actually our o-line is one of the worst in the league. they didnt play well at all in pass protection down the road. at the end of the season the went blocking well. we need a true LT, carey is a good RT but average to slightly below average LT

Anyone heard anything on Phil Loadholt? Has he declared?

He is a Parcels type OT......if OT is the target at 32 then Otah, Loadholt in that order would be my picks......

Also if a later OT is the target...King Dunlap and Tyler Luellen fit the Parcells mold..........

    Joe Burnett, Central Florida
    Height: 5-11. Weight: 183.
    40 Time: 4.40.
    Projected Round: 2-3.

Joe Burnett has declared for the 2008 NFL Mock Draft.

Burnett played a lot as a freshman, but was hampered by an ankle injury as a sophomore. Now in his junior year, Joe Burnett is making all the plays; he had a great game in a near upset against Texas.

joe burnett is coming out

and hubbard is a big fast WR and could be something in the nfl. i think he will be a 3rd rounder

I hope they mess with it a lot.

My analysis of the Parcells prototypical football players:
0-line: Basically sumo wrestlers. Big nimble elephants.
D-line: Tall ex-nba centers that QBs cant see over and can bat things down at the line and that are fast.Similar to Jason Taylor but more.

QB:The tallest thing you can find like a big redwood sequoia tree. Like Manute Bol but able to throw a football that just towers over the lines.

SUPERSIZE comes to mind, guys who just have tremendous physical advantages over their opponents.

just take advantage of the #1 overall pick and select Jake Long and that solves the LT spot for a decade.

Thanks Zach, I had read on the Orlando Sentinel site he was not......but your site is dated the 17th and this article is done on the 10th so it would seem you are right...thanks. I agree with you on Hubbard and I think he will be a good player actually, i would pick him higher but IMHO he will go early 5....JMO..
