However, there’s one smart football mind out there who isn’t ready to dismiss Tannehill as trash in favor of looking for a new quarterback, which would be the team’s 18th starter since Dan Marino.

“No quarterback could make this situation work right now,” says Cian Fahey, a film room writer with Football Outsiders. “The offensive line is getting beaten even when it has two or three extra bodies in against the rush. Tannehill was under pressure from multiple spots on nearly every dropback yesterday.

“I would stick with Tannehill long term without any doubt. Right now he is Sam Bradford during the early stages of his career, a good quarterback trapped in an offense that never improves.”

I'm not ready to dump him either, because the team straight sucks with or without him. But I think at the least the days of Matt Moore holding Ryan's clipboard need to end this upcoming off-season, and we need to bring in a young QB with some talent to either push or unseat Tannehill. Doughty doesn't count.

Too risky IMO. What if the QB never improves? Then you're on the books for $20.5 million which is what Tannehill will cost against the cap next year. At this point, with the team so incredibly bad, tying up all that money in one position will not help the Dolphins get the players they need. Look how badly the QB contracts have hurt the Saints and Ravens. Both of those teams are crippled by huge QB contracts and are unable to build defenses because of it...or get other position players they need.

Na, we've got to move on.

At least with Bradford, you really weren't sure because he was always hurt.

The Alex Smith comparison is always the best one, to me that is still where he can reach, but not going to lie, it probably wont happen here.

Without getting a veteran QB in here who can scramble and has success in the past we will not know how much of all these sacks are Tannehill's fault.

Quick question... would Tom Brady do well with this oline? I think he would. How about Cam Newton? Maybe.

If we were able to get someone in here like Colin Kaepernick or Jay Cutler and if we saw them get destroyed then we would know it is the o-line without having to get rid of Tannehill. But I am afraid we are going to let Tannehill go and he will have success somewhere else.

The OL is worse than RT
The RB's are worse than RT
The TE's are worse than RT
The WR's except Landry are worse than RT
The DL except Suh is worse than RT
The LB's are worse than RT
The secondary except Jones is worse than RT
The play calling is worse than RT
The gameplan is worse than RT
The coaches so far are worse than RT

Any disagreement with that? Start fixing for real these problems & when things begin looking up with them RT is either good or not. then replace him if not.

The book is out on Ryan, he does not move, and teams know they can send added pressure and get him rattled without worrying about him beating you with his legs.

People are looking at the Tennessee game like it was a microcosm of the season. Ryan has had time this year, more than previous years, he doesn't do much of anything when pressure comes and its killing this team. It will never be perfect around any QB and Ryan needs it pretty perfect behind center to be effective. Throw in a lack of confidence in him by continous pourous results and its pretty obvious that letting him go after the season is potentially the best for both parties.

Him going on to have success elsewhere does not mean he would of ever had that here. Gotta get over that fear.

How much more difficult is it going to be to fix all those things when you're QB is counting $20.5 million against the cap...not to mention Suh is going to count $31.5 million against the cap next year...$51.5 million in two players. You better have a magician running the draft...which we do not.

By week 8 when the only fans showing up chant for Moore, the pressure will be on to replace Tannehill. Keeping him at the cost of his contract going into 2017....is absurd.

So 4 more years then we'll know. You'll be suprised what fresh blood at QB can do for a team. Ryan is literally the one constant on this team during his tenure (along with Reshad and Wake) . . . Try something else at QB before retrying to replace another 50 positions.

So by year 8?

And his contract says WE should expect better.

Can't be paying him 20M. Suh is too expensive as well, bad move. Way too much money and now it will be a long term issue.

The contract is why we need to dump him. Too risky. We will be like the 49ers paying a ton of money to a guy struggling or sitting on the bench. Time for a new era if he doesn't show immense improvement this year

Start purging the crap now and let young players attempt to emerge. RT has put up 4000 yds the last 3 seasons and 20+ TD's during this time. He is hardly crap. Yes he has issues but should
I list the players on this team that are crap? Would be here a long time. HC needs to do something to hide his lack of awareness flaw, and find a way to allow him more than 2 seconds to make a play. As horrible as everything was Sunday he was 7-8 with 123yds when protected as most QB's are fairly regulary
