Looked at roster this morning, and there was a name missing..

I noticed that Chris Davis, the wr from Southern University, was not on the roster. I also noticed that McNeil, the center from Mississippi State, was still on the roster, even though it was unofficially announced that he had left the team last week. These are not big omissions, and I am sure there will be announcements any day.

I don't think this guy would make the practice squad anyways....We are set at receivers.....

I think part of your problem is that you are looking for a "Brown" when the fellow's name is Chris Davis. Secondly he has changed numbers from 16, which now belongs to Marcus Vick, to 9.

Regarding McNeil, you are likely correct that an annoucement may be forthcoming, however it took the official site a long time last year to move Tony Pape to the "Reserve: did not report" list and likely that is where McNeil is going. It will need to be addressed at some point for at least two reasons, first we are seemingly one over our 80 player limit (plus NFLE exemptions and unsigned draft picks), and secondly we need the number to assign to Furio. Otherwise we are out of numbers in the 60's and 70's. We could, I suppose, give him one of the used by a defensive player and have a dual use.
 
you are absolutely right. Davis it is; he didn't make any of the NFLE teams, so I expect him to get cut anyway. (he is from Southern University?)

Yeah, but thing is, when they added Furio on the roster list at the official website, why didn't they remove McNeil right then and there?

Perhaps, according to Saban, making the annoucement would give the opposition a competitive advantage???? Never know how much useful data Belichek could get from discovering an undrafted free agent C, who was unlikely at best to make the PS let alone the 53 man roster, had left the team! :D He might have tried to keep us from signing Forio off waivers and y'all know what a disaster that would have been!
 
my thought is that although mcneil left the team, he is still under whatever contract he had, therefore still technically a dolphin.

Likely true, but there is a category entitled "Reserve: Did not report" which covers players like that. It prevents someone from not showing up in an effort to force a release and subsequent re-signing by a differant team they may prefer to be on. That's what Pape was on last year. It also extends the contract which lays in limbo while a player is gone. Like I said earlier, it took a while last year for the official site to report Pape that way and may be the case here as well.
 
Could be one of those "take time and decide" moves..

both of these are what i was thinking, im sure there is a certain date that you have to have people on the list by and we probably just havent hit that deadline yet, so like you say, its kinda wait and see basically leaving it open for right now. but the fact that we got fiorio means hes probably gone.
 
So, do we have four centers under contrac now? (Wade, McKinney, Furio, Mcneil, not including Hadnot)

Yep, if McNeil is still on the regular list that would be true. Normally we carry three into camp. We also usually carry 15 linemen. Considering Orrin Thompson from NFLE would be the fifteenth and spent his Europe time on their IR, we may see another Olineman added though likely not a pure C.
