With Tannehill's deal coming into play in 2017, we can afford to really pay 10-11 players. For those concerned about the cap, who will they be?

Next year, which concerns many, has Suh, RT, Albert, Pouncey, Wake, Grimes, Cameron, Jones, Jordan, and Jennings. Anyone believe they will all be on this team next year?

Jordan and Jennings will be gone, and Cameron will not be paid $9.5M. Wake and Grimes are up in the air, as is Jones, depending on this year.

We can easily afford to keep this team together or, replace players being well within the cap.

In 2017, our top 10 will be RT, Suh, Albert, Pouncey, Grimes, Jones, Misi, Mitchell, Parker, and James.

In both years, there is plenty of room for player movement to add high priced FA or not.

Who would you pay for next year or, in 2017? I do not see 10.

This is a list for what everyone counts on the cap the next two years.

As long as we release several vets, absolutely, we can keep the whole team together. Hopefully the vets we release do have good years in 2015, cause if Albert, Wake, Grimes, Pouncey, etc don't play well it's going to be a long season -not to mention how hard it'll be to replace a #1 pass rusher, # 1 CB and LT (or RT if James slides over) in one offseason.

I agree with you assessment for 2016 believe we can keep everyone we want. We are currently at $154M for projected cap around $150M. Jennings and D. Jordan are $7M gone. If Jordan Cameron can keep his eggs from getting scrambled this year, he will get an extension freeing some of that $9.5M (say another $3M). That would put you at around $6M under, enough to sign rookies. If Reshad Jones keeps out of trouble and looks good he is a potential extension next year. Could provide enough relief for Olivier Vernon to be resigned for minimal in 2016 and float more to 2017 if he shows this year. L. Miller too if you want to spend $ on the RB position or get the home town discount.
Not much room for FA in 2016, but more relief in 2017. Think we need to draft a high end CB and/or DE next year to provide low cost replacement for Grimes and Wake in 2017. Hope some later round draft picks really develop and we look good for 2017.

Misi, jordan, jennings, and grimes would be gone. I would guess wake would restructure to stay. I actually like the role Jones plays on the team but 8.2 is a heavy number he would have to have a fantastic year.

Also to mention for next year, Fins are currently $10.6M under this year with all rookies signed. Expect half that for late adds/injuries and you get another $5M to roll over to next year.

I believe we keep Grimes for next year unless his play really fall off. You could cut him and try and sign a younger CB. Don't know who the FAs will be next year, but if this year is any indication, there will be plenty of FA $ out there that may not make us competitive even with Grimes' $8M savings. At this year's market price, $10M cap is reasonable assuming he can produce. I would be happy to trade out younger and get rid of the Miko influence, but don't know if its viable. This year CB market went nuts. Got to think we draft one high next year and replace out with Grimes in 2017.

Doubt we extend Wake at his age past his current contract ending next year. Maybe give him another contract in 2017 for low, but not insulting $ if he can still bring it.

Nit so, we could keep everyone together without releasing any vets other than Jordan and Jenkins.

And then there is rollover and cap increase. Remember that any FA is going to be cheap in year #1 with the pro-rated signing bonus. The team has many cop options for next year. Just looking at our being over the cap next year means nothing.

One thing about the rollover is that we do it pretty much every year, so yes, you can say now that we will have that $8-$10 million or from this year to work with next year, but most likely they will want that working room at the end of the year next year as well. I think they actually will use that cushion they always seem to have in a year they think they have a shot at the Superbowl. Pretty smart IMHO.
